The acolyte shows how the Jedi learned a lot about the Sith

The creator of the upcoming series in the Star Wars universe, Acolyte, explained why she decided to set the project in the era of the High Republic.

A time that gives a lot of creative freedom

In an interview with Geek Den, Leslie Helland shared her inspiration for creating a Star Wars show set in the High Republic era. The showrunner said she wanted to make a mystery thriller that would allow her more creative freedom in the original Jedi story.

“There were two reasons I wanted to set it in that particular time period and so far away from the prequels. One, I didn’t want to mess with any canon. Another thing I love about this season is the lack of legacies of the characters. “I was really scared to face them, but this era was an easy jump. I feel like it’s a sandbox that I can.”

On the other hand, the Star Wars series is known to explain how the Jedi learned a lot about the Sith before the events of the prequel trilogy. The first two episodes of The Acolyte will arrive on June 4 on Disney+.
