Why is Marvel Studios changing the focus of the show? Brad Winderbaum explains.

Marvel Studios will release Wonder Man under a new label

The Marvel Studios series has been released under different labels since Echo arrived, and now Marvel Streaming boss Brad Winderbaum has explained why they made that decision.

The MCU projects on Disney+ are divided into Marvel Spotlight, Marvel Animation and Marvel Television.

Now, we know that Wonder Man will debut as a Marvel Spotlight show, while Agatha, Daredevil, and Ironheart will become Marvel television projects.

In an interview with Variety , Winderbaum explained why the studio changed the focus of Marvel Studios’ television content.

“After ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ there was a lot of pressure for viewers not to feel obligated to watch everything to see anything.” It was part of the rebranding signal to the general audience that we are creating more options and that you can follow your preferences in this brand.

“Some will be more comedic, some will be more dramatic, some will be animated, some will be live action. Marvel is more than just one thing: it’s many different genres coexisting in one narrative. The characters still live and breathe in the same universe, but the connection isn’t so rigid that you need to see Project A to understand Project B.

“A couple of years ago we were adjusting our process, you know, from filling the service as quickly as possible no matter what, to a more deliberate approach. I really like the idea of two shows a year, especially since we’re growing more than we’re producing.

Before everything worked the same way, Marvel Studios’ new approach to the series is interesting. For example, while the MCU movies leading up to the conclusion of the Infinity Saga were being released, shows focusing on Marvel characters were streaming on Netflix.
