What’s next for Shang-Chi?
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings 2021 has seen great reviews, so fans thought we wouldn’t have to wait long to see Simu Liu again in another MCU project, but that’s not to be.
In an interview with ComicBook, Liu was asked if he could give some details about his future in the MCU, including whether or not he’ll be in Avengers: Kang Dynasty. While it is not certain whether the actor will appear in the Super Jiro team-up movie at this time, what he does know is that Shang-Chi 2 is still in development. Below, we share their words.
“Oh man, I honestly don’t know. I mean, those things are above my pay grade. I just want to be his fan. You know, when I get a call that says, ‘Hey, this is what you’ve been thinking about and you’re showing up here.’ And this time you need to let go. That’s generally what happens. But you know Destin is a very special filmmaker and we’re excited to have him on the sequel. He’s working on it and we’re excited to see what he comes up with. “I think he will do a wonderful job.”
The release of the next Avengers movie is still a long way off, so it makes sense that it’s unclear whether or not Liu will be involved in the project at the moment. However, fans of the original Shang-Chi film will be lucky to hear that the sequel has gone ahead without a hitch.
