Waititi expressed his delight at working with Kudrow, saying he has admired her work over the years, particularly on the HBO series The Comeback. “I just love Lisa Kudron and I thought it would be amazing to see her lead a group of idiots over time,” the filmmaker explained.

Clement, for his part, recalled his first hearing of Gilliam’s first film: “It was something I had never seen before.” I remember being so scared. “Many of the children’s movies of that time were not creative and imaginative.” Clement added that the film was one of his first introductions to British humor and Terry Gilliam comedy.

Waititi will direct the first two episodes, which will be co-produced by Paramount Television Studios, Anonymous Content AC Studios and MRC Television.
