AVT

With the end of Loki and its impact on AVT, a new timeline is emerging in the MCU.

A temporal difference authority (AVT) is a component that transcends the normal time perception threshold. Playing a pivotal role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), this agency, originally created by the rest of him, has evolved from a tool for cutting timelines to a benevolent entity.

One war many fronts

Prior to the creation of the Temporal Diversion Authority, a devastating Time War led by Kang the Conqueror, sparked by Nathaniel Richards’s experiments with alternate realities, broke out against many odds. This war caused chaos, destroyed everything. In Loki, the rest is revealed to be victorious, determined to prevent another war.

Subsequently, what remained of him established the Time Diversion Authority, choosing Earth-616 as the primary universe and creating a sacred timeline. Agents of AVT, including Ravonna Renslayer and Mobius M. Mobius, are tasked with protecting this universe and intercepting any different timelines.

Sylvie, the rebel variant

Loki’s alter-ego, Sylvie Laufedotter, was arrested by AVT for deviating from the sacred line. After his escape, he spent decades corrupting the Time Diversion Authority, planning to suppress the timeline during the events of the Nexus. His capture and subsequent escape proved to be pivotal events in AVT history.

Miss Minutes and the rest of him erase the memories of everyone in the Temporal Diversion Authority, creating the myth of the agency’s creation and replacing the remaining images with Time Guardians.

Temporary robbery and its consequences

The Avengers’ time heist in Avengers: Endgame created an alternate timeline. Loki, captured by the Temporal Variation Authority, learns that this heist was authorized by the Temporal Variation Authority, but his existence was not.

Loki and Sylvie, united by love and violence, discover the novel of the Time Keepers and finally confront what remains, only to kill him and trigger a rupture in the sacred timeline.

Tricky in time and space

Kang, the central figure in the Temporal Variation Authority story, represents a complex antagonist in the MCU. His various variants, each with their own agenda and character, make Kang a unique and versatile enemy. Taken from the pages of Marvel Comics, this villain has become a fundamental axis in the development of the MCU story, especially after the events of Avengers: Endgame.

Unlike Thanos, whose motivation is to balance the universe, Kang seeks to control multiple realities by testing not only heroes, but the fabric of time and space. This trait makes him a more unpredictable and dangerous threat, which opens up different narrative possibilities in future MCU episodes.

A new start for AVT

Following the rest’s death, Loki reveals the truth to a time-varying authority, prompting an immediate restoration. The agency changes its focus, devoting itself to protecting the timelines rather than destroying them.

The instability of the Lom of Time, due to the ensuing chaos, leads Loki and Mobius to recruit Kang’s alter ego, Victor Tylli, to prevent the destruction of the Multiverse.

Loki: Architect of the New Plural.

Eventually, Loki travels back in time and, faced with the impossibility of repairing the Lom of Time, decides to create a new multiverse. Inspired by Yggdrasil, the World Tree of Norse mythology, it creates a calm and cohesive universe.

Time difference authority will complete the change, it will be the basis of many good things. Under the leadership of Hunter-B15 and other veterans, the agency has ushered in a new era, protecting the timeline it once sought to destroy.
