Lorcana is a collectible card game developed by Ravensburger in the Disney multiverse. Since the very classic Disney to be exact. From Snow White, Elsa, Mulan or Aurora, in Peter Pan, 101 Dalmatians, Lilo and Stitch, Donald, Pluto, The Jungle Book and many more, to cover all the characters that are the childhood of many generations. There will continue to be more and more characters released with each new Disney brand release, predicting an ever-growing diversity.
In Spain, at the moment, it is distributed only in English, but there are various projects that translate the letters. Browsing the internet, you will find various unofficial websites dedicated to interpreting the cards after their August 2023 release in the USA. We are talking about a “young” game, many changes and improvements are expected, both in the distribution as well as content.
Disney Lorcana Into the Inklands is the most recent release.
Into the Inklands introduces Disney characters into the story that invite the player to embark on an adventure to collect the lost color. Lots of references and easter eggs on the cards, new characters and a new game card: locations. The game demands a step forward. As it could not be otherwise, the heroes stand out in this issue. But the villains don’t back down.
Jafar, Ursula, and Scar are just a few examples of cards that came out in this new edition and saw play, but have a rough road ahead. Belle, Moana, Ariel, Simba, and even Lilo are ready to face them with all the power of Disney magic.
After opening three packs, receiving a pre-made deck and an amazing promo card from Uncle Guilito, we focused on the Enchanted card that was unlocked, as it is the most powerful in the set and the perfect introduction to the next edition. We are lucky enough to unlock one of the most coveted cards of this TCG, the Enchanted card. Plus she’s beautiful and she’s Ursula.
The most coveted magical letters (Enchanted) bring to this edition, and more, the powerful Ursula, a singing letter, as she steals the voice of Ariel, completely immersed in the role of the film. The power causes songs (like spells) to be sung twice.

Chapter 1, the first chapter – pre-built boosters and shipping boxes, gift packs are a pipe dream. Chapter 2, Rise of the Flood – Pre-built starter tiles and booster boxes. Chapter 3, Into the Inklands (available in stores now) – All items, pre-built starter decks, gift packs, toys (Moana is a great one), card sleeves, boxes to store the ship’s items, etc… Chapter 4, Ursula’s Return – in May 17, 2024 will be sold in specialty stores and will focus on The Great Little Mermaid. Presently some letters and most importantly to the entire Madrigal de Encanto family were revealed. We will talk about this new version in future articles.
Playing and collecting Lorcana art is pure nostalgia.
The Disney Lorcana game system is simple and easy to learn, making it a great option for a board game as it can be played in multiplayer mode. The mechanics are simple, the cards themselves act as “colors”, which is the mana of the game. To play the cards on the table, you have to pay the suit, so the strategy is to decide which cards to play. Winning the game depends on the lore described on each card.
