Clash between Marvel Studios and Sony! The studios have different plans for Spider-Man 4

A new report claims that Sony wants more multiverses in Spider-Man 4, while Marvel Studios and Tom Holland are looking for a more street-level plot.

Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios will have completely opposite ideas for the story of Spider-Man 4.

A new conflict for Spider-Man

According to insider Daniel Richman, Sony wants to repeat the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home by returning to the superhero theme with the fourth Spider-Man movie starring Tom Holland. The report claims that the studio wants to bring Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield a big crossover similar to the one seen in the previous film. However, Kevin Feige and Holland have other plans, because they want to do something similar to what was seen in the first two MCU Spider-Man movies.

The insider mentions that Spider-Man 4 will feature Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, but explains that Vincent D’Onofrio has yet to be in discussions with studios to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film.

Although reuniting the three Spider-Mans would be a safe bet, I think this decision could hurt the development of Holland’s Peter Parker, not to mention that it would be a missed opportunity for the MCU to walk the very street corner.

Also, if the rumors are true, Sony’s plan is reminiscent of No Way Home, and the public will be more critical of the idea. In other words, even if the box office is guaranteed, the film must be well made, and it must have a very good writing to receive strong criticism in the moment of using nostalgia instead of creating a good story.

Spider-Man 4 doesn’t have a release date yet.
