Sylvester Stallone’s Idea for Rocky Prequel Reminds Him of a Disney Classic

In the podcast Inspire Me, Stallone confirmed that he has written a few pages and revealed some interesting plot points for the prequel, such as that the project will not only explore more of Rocky Balboa’s life before what was seen in the original film, but will also delve further into other characters from the saga.. Additionally, Stallone commented that his idea for the prequel reminds him of the film Disney Lady and the Tramp.

“The Rocky prequel is very dear to me. I’ve written a few pages and it feels like it writes itself. Seeing Adrianna at 15, Rocky at 17, Paulie moving to a new neighborhood, Rocky is your bad boy. It’s almost like Lady and the Tramp, but with real people. “It’s going to be wonderful.”

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about a Rocky prequel in development, as Stallone himself has spoken about the subject on multiple occasions. In fact, the mastermind behind the franchise took to Instagram in 2021 to share a photo of a handwritten piece of writing related to a Rocky prequel series. In the post, Stallone said he’d love for the show to last multiple seasons to tell its full story.
