After the success of Percy Jackson and the Olympians on Disney+, many fans want to see more of this universe.

After Netflix released the rights to The Chronicles of Kane and the success of Percy Jackson and the Olympians on Disney+, many fans are already calling for an adaptation of Rick Riordan’s book series.

Will we have an adaptation of The Chronicles of Kane?

Percy Jackson producer Rebecca Riordan has spoken about the topic of a possible Disney adaptation of The Chronicles of Kane. Rebecca’s words are part of her response to a Prophecy Radio podcast survey regarding the two franchises and the crossover between them.

The production company said: “A fact that may help readers decide how they want to respond to the prediction survey: If it was ever going to be a movie crossover, we would have to have a deal with Disney.” Could the show be somewhere else? Sure, but we need to rebind the short stories of the crossover.

However, Riordan provided more clarity on the matter, saying that she and her husband will regain control of the film rights to the Kane Chronicles. Since Netflix has not produced any movies or shows from the book series, this means they now have the option of selling the rights to another studio.

“The rights to the series have reverted to us because The Kane Chronicles was never filmed and the option has expired. “Once something is recorded, it’s unlikely and very rare to get the rights back.”

The Chronicles of Kane books take place in the same universe as the Percy Jackson books, so it doesn’t make sense to cross between the characters of both stories. Of course, now that the Riordans own the rights to The Chronicles of Kane, they could work with Disney to make this a reality.
