The Game of Thrones universe is expanding
The popular show that adapted the “A Song of Ice and Fire” universe became a surprise hit for HBO, so it made sense for the network to consider expanding this universe. The series has already spawned a renewed Dragon House prequel for a second season, and it was recently confirmed that the next spin-off, The Seven Kingdoms , will be based on the short stories. During the interview, Martin revealed that there are eight more Game of Thrones spin-off shows in development. Although Horseman of the Seven Kingdoms is the only green light, Martin says the other spin-offs are still moving forward.
“I have eight other driving shows that we’re developing. The Dunk and Egg show has been greenlit. The others haven’t yet, but we’re still working on them.
Unfortunately, Martin didn’t say what he was talking about. But the network is reportedly still considering a spin-off starring Kit Harington and is also planning an animated project centered on YT’s Golden Empire.
