The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) may be very different from what we know and have seen so far.
Come on, we all know that the Marvel Cinematic Universe wasn’t created in a day. Behind every film there are many scenes that end up in the editing room and never see the light of day. But be careful, some of the forgotten sequences could have changed the game. Ready to go down the rabbit hole?
Deleted scenes in the MCU
The big MCU was in 2008: Nick Fury was around names like Spider-Man and X-Men in 2008. A start, eliminating years of bar gossip and memes about which company owns which company. But, of course, at the time, Sony and Fox refused to part with the Marvel universe.
Bucky, could have been Captain America: In Captain America: Civil War, the scene where Bucky grabs Captain America’s shield was deleted, leaving us with honey on our lips. Have we been robbed of the opportunity to see a very different order change? It seems there is. Although all is not lost, because Sam Wilson carries the shield and we are doing a good job. Captain Marvel Appears Early: Can you imagine Carol Danvers being big in Avengers: Age of Ultron? Kevin Feige chose caution and decided not to promote events, allowing Captain Marvel to release her own film. Whether it was a good decision or not, we don’t know, but it’s certain that Carol’s surprise appearance was a bomb in the cinema, setting the sky high for what’s to come.
Miles Morales is one step away from appearing: In Spider-Man: Homecoming, Aaron Davis, brilliantly played by Donald Glover, was going to talk about his niece Miles Morales. Yes, the future Spider-Man. Although it’s probably too soon, we can’t help but dream of Miles Morales joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe soon. Can you imagine the impact?
Hulk meets Captain America on ice: What if it was Bruce Banner or the Hulk who pulled Steve Rogers out of the ice instead of Nick Fury? The dynamic between the two was completely different and added another layer of complexity to the Avengers team. Plus, it would have provided a wonderful way to connect the stories of these two iconic characters from the beginning.
Loki vs Throg: A deleted scene from the Loki series could have shown Loki facing Throg. Yes, you read that right, Trog. He would have been a comic genius, but he remained “too funny.”
Zola Escapes: We return to the Captain America universe with Arnim Zola, who could have given his character a more robotic look in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” This version of Zola would have been a robot just like in the comics, adding a whole new level of complexity to Cap’s villains. Not only that, but it would open the door to potential future plots full of action and strategy where the robot villain could play the lead role.
SWORD FROM THOR: To close this journey with a possible ending, let’s imagine a world where Jane Foster and her team have teamed up with SWORD, not with SHIELD, since the first Thor movie. The potential for exploring the cosmos would be limitless and lay the foundation for expanding the universe into new horizons. Additionally, this allows for an earlier approach to characters such as Wanda Maximoff herself, as well as characters and cosmic entities that appear much later in the cinematic universe.
The power of the possible
Next time you watch an MCU movie, remember that it could be a very different universe. The deleted scenes show us a different look, more dangerous or aligned with the comics. But hey, the Marvel Universe we’re in isn’t bad, right?
