Brad Winderbaum addresses X-Men ’97 creator Beau DeMayo’s shooting

Following the sudden firing of X-Men ’97 showrunner Beau DeMaio, the producer of the Marvel Studios animated show has finally broken his silence.

Why did Marvel Studios and Beau DeMayo break up?

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Marvel Studios head of streaming, television and animation Brad Winderbaum was asked if DeMaio was indeed fired. The manufacturer did not provide information about the issue, but he commented that he sees it as a separation.

“I can’t speak to the details, but I can say that Bowe had a real respect and love for these characters and wrote what I think is a great script that the rest of the team was able to inspire. [para] Build this. It’s an incredible scene on screen. ‘We broke up’ is the best way to say it.”

On the other hand, Winderbaum took the opportunity to talk about the second and third seasons of the animated series.

“I’ve just seen the animated versions for the second season. Obviously, you have a lot to do when you’re at that level. It’s editorial, but it’s still repetitive because when you put it together that way, there’s still a story to unravel. We will soon begin development of the third season. And yes, we’re still trying to figure out who that voice will be on the page, but luckily, that will be amazing, there are so many talented X-Men fans and great writers.

The first two episodes of X-Men ’97 will arrive on Disney+ on March 20.
