Dragon Ball has a lot of fun with the Fortuneteller Baba tournament, in which Goku, Krillin, Yamcha and Upa face off against a team of supernatural entities that includes a vampire, a mummy, an invisible man and a devil. Many of these characters are played for laughs, but Spike the Devil Man is truly intimidating and poses a serious challenge to Goku. Spike has a striking design and his Devilmite Beam is extremely powerful and has the power to kill anyone he connects with if they have even a fraction of evil in their heart. The 21st World Martial Arts Tournament has its share of gag characters, like Bacterian and Ranfan. However, Nam is a true martial artist driven by a pure heart and a selfless desire to save his barren village. Nam’s story really resonates with Goku and the two team up in a filler episode after the world tournament. Nam’s martial arts promise and strong ideals make him a character that would be fun to explore in a new story.
It should be noted that Nam appears briefly in both Dragon Ball Z And Dragon Ball GT where he contributes to Goku’s Super Spirit Bomb and is saved by Goku during the mass exodus from the planet. However, he has not been seen since his Dragon Ball GT His appearance and a new role for him seems increasingly unlikely, especially since Uub shares many of the same qualities as Nam and has rather moved to the forefront.

8 Android 8 is a compassionate killing machine that yearns for more

Evil androids pose a constant threat Dragon Ball and even if this idea is really gaining ground Dragon Ball Zit is first explored in the original anime. Android 8 is initially launched on Goku by Ninja Murasaki during the young boy’s infiltration into the Red Ribbon Army. Oddly enough, Android 8 and Goku form an endearing bond and a legit friendship forms between the two of them. Android 8 lives in fear that the bomb implanted in his chest will explode at some point, so Goku helps “Eighter” track down his creator, Dr. Flappe, to eliminate the volatile explosive. Dragon Ball ZAndroid 16 certainly seems to share a lot in common with Android 8, in that they are both pacifist androids who are still capable of intense rage and violence when they exceed their limits.

It’s nice to know that Android 8 is still alive and well in Jingle Village, but it also makes it all the more frustrating that it hasn’t made a proper return in Dragon Ball Super. Androids are particularly popular in Dragon Ball Superespecially after Gamma 1 and Dr. Hedo joined the team. There has never been a better time to remind the public that Android 8 exists.
7 Tambourine is the deadliest and most determined of Demon King Piccolo’s dark vassals

Dragon BallThe Demon King Piccolo is a terrifying threat unlike anything that has been encountered before. King Piccolo is more than capable of handling situations on his own, but he begins his hostile takeover through the malicious actions of his Dark Vassal Mutant Namekians. Tambourine is the most skilled and dangerous of the group, and he assassinates several of the World Tournament’s best fighters – including Krillin – to prevent any possible opposition to his leader. A particularly intense battle takes place between Tambourine and Goku.
Tambourine actually destroys Goku’s Flying Nimbus and leaves him for dead, before Goku triumphantly kills him in their emotional revenge. None of Demon King Piccolo’s black vassals have returned. Dragon Ball and they probably never will. The closest case is when Krillin sees an illusion of Tambourine – along with other villains from the past who have personally wronged Krillin – while training in the Forest of Terror with Goku in Dragon Ball Super. This was a big surprise and probably the last time Tambourine will be seen. Piccolo, like his father, presumably possesses Dark Vassal creation powers and it might be possible to give birth to a new version of Tambourine, although this time she will be an ally of the heroes.

The original Dragon Ball has a wide cast of truly strange individuals and one of the anime’s most peculiar characters – Monster Carrot and his Rabbit Mob – is introduced quite early in Dragon BallIt’s a common occurrence. Monster Carrot is a giant anthropomorphic rabbit who has the ability to turn people into carrots with his touch. He uses this disturbing ability to terrorize an entire community into carrying out his orders. Goku’s battle with Monster Carrot results in the Tyrant being stranded on the moon, which seems like a pretty solid conclusion to the villain’s story, not to mention one that pays homage to a traditional Chinese fairy tale.
Monster Carrot has such potential and has been used creatively in Dragon Ball video games, but he never managed to play an active role in the anime or manga after his galactic banishment. Monster Carrot actually makes a surprise appearance in the Dragon Ball Super from the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga manga where he still works on the moon. This amounts to a fun Easter egg more than a true return, but it’s also likely the last time the character will be seen. Monster Carrot fans are lucky to even have this playful cameo.

5 Annin is a powerful otherworldly arbiter who helps maintain demonic balance

The original Dragon Ball ends with a few eventful filler episodes that test Goku and Chi-Chi’s skills as a team and as a couple. They head to the Furnace of Eight Divisions in order to extinguish the intense flames of Fire Mountain that threaten Ox-King and his village. Annin is the guardian of the Furnace of Eight Divisions, meaning she controls the flames that prevent demons from the Otherworld from recklessly traveling to Earth. Extinguishing these flames, even for a moment, would put the Earth in grave danger.
Goku is forced to face Annin in battle, which becomes a good opportunity to show off the Bansho Fan’s power, especially once Annin transforms into a giant who tries to crush Goku. Annin is never mentioned again after this appearance. It’s a shame, because Dragon Ball‘s relationship with Other World has only evolved over time. Annin may be a filler character, but she would fit in well with the four Kais. His appearance in Dragon Ball DAIMA would not even be called into question, given its background and history. There are very few bad women in Dragon Ball and there are a lot of things that could have been done with Annin if the franchise had ever given him another chance.
4 Grandpa Gohan is a wise guardian who helped put Goku on the right path in life

Grandpa Gohan, Goku’s guardian, is out of place when Dragon Ball begin. However, Goku has immense respect for this surrogate family figure. Grandpa Gohan inspired Goku to become a martial artist in the first place, gave him the four-star Dragon Ball, and was the former owner of the versatile Power Pole. Grandpa Gohan was also a former student of Master Roshi, which becomes a valuable shortcut for Goku when it comes to getting into Roshi’s good graces. Grandpa Gohan – or rather his ghost – makes a surprise appearance as the final fighter in Fortuneteller Baba’s tournament.
An extremely cathartic reunion takes place between Goku and Grandpa Gohan before he is forced to return to the Other World. Grandpa Gohan is visited by Goku and Chi-Chi once again during Dragon BallThe last episodes. It’s rather strange that Grandpa Gohan no longer appears, especially once Goku himself is in the Other World for many years. The Dragon Balls could also be used to resurrect Gohan, since he did not die of natural causes. It seems that Dragon Ball wants to keep Grandpa Gohan’s memory sacred, rather than run the risk of diluting the poignancy of the character. Still, it’s a shame that Gohan will never get to meet Goku’s children or grandchildren.
3 Giran is a surprisingly strategic monstrous beast

Dragon BallThe 21st World Martial Arts Tournament is an interesting opportunity for anime to introduce some truly elevated characters. Goku faces powerful threats in his first martial arts competition, and Giran is a particularly memorable conquest. Giran stands out because he’s a kaiju-like dinosaur creature that looks particularly imposing. Giran is physically intimidating, but he is also very intelligent, strategic, and has resilient special techniques.
Giran appears in a few episodes outside of his martial arts match with Goku, but his presence is largely limited to the original. Dragon Ball. It’s truly surprising when Giran, accompanied by a herd of his kind, pledges energy to Goku’s Super Spirit Bomb during his battle against Kid Buu. Giran is an anomaly when introduced, but Dragon Ball became progressively more daring and adventurous over time. A dinosaur beast no longer has the same cache as it once did, which is why this character is probably extinct.

Some of the originals Dragon Ball‘s strongest material comes from the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament, which focuses more on Master Shen’s villainous rival martial arts school, the Crane School of Martial Arts. Master Shen’s best students, Tien and Chiaotzu, are presented as dark doubles of Goku and Krillin, but this concept carries over to Master Shen himself. Shen has a complicated history with Master Roshi where they started out as friends, only for that relationship to sour and take them in opposite directions. Shen is also the brother of Mercenary Tao, another particularly antagonistic force in the original. Dragon Ball.
Cyborg Tao makes an entertaining return in a Dragon Ball Z filler episode that takes place during the lead-up to the Cell Games. However, Shen doesn’t get the same treatment and it’s basically implied that he died off-screen. The closest that Dragon Ball came upon Shen’s return when one of Tien’s students, Yurin, reveals that she is indebted to Shen’s philosophy and desires revenge for Tien’s role in the martial arts master’s demise. It wouldn’t be difficult for someone – even Yurin – to revive Shen with the Dragon Balls to create more tension with Roshi. That being said, Dragon Ball seems to have outgrown this character.
1 Demon King Piccolo is a villain who forever changes the scope of Dragon Ball

The original Dragon Ball has its share of unscrupulous individuals, but they are largely corrupt humans with impressive martial arts skills. Demon King Piccolo is a major change of pace in that he is an antagonist who is an actual monster. He helps usher in unprecedented peril and plays a role in the deaths of many heroes, including Krillin, Master Roshi, and Chiaotzu. Demon King Piccolo also stands out because he is the first villain to achieve a Dragon Ball wish and become more powerful. These are all important precedents for the anime that have been endlessly followed by later foes. Demon King Piccolo is replaced by his reincarnated offspring, Piccolo Jr., but the original enemy hasn’t truly returned yet.
Dragon Ball Super has been increasingly interested in resurrecting old villains, leading to speculation that King Piccolo could be next. Some even believed that Dragon Ball DAIMA would find a way to bring back King Piccolo, which actually led to an even more sinister Namekian counterpart, Neva. A reunion between Demon King Piccolo and his heroic son would be incredibly compelling, but it’s unlikely to ever happen in the franchise’s canon. Dragon Ball fans will instead have to turn to video games like Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors 2 to explore this “What if?” ” scenario.
