The new Ultimate Universe has Thor, a character similar to Norse mythology.
Marvel rebooted the Ultimate Universe, and with it came alternate versions of some of its most popular heroes, with the new Thor being one of the most popular.
The ultimate Thor is brutal and violent.
The Ultimate Universe Avengers are very different from the original, but it’s Thor who may experience the biggest change. The hero is now presented as a creature that reflects the actions of the Viking warrior, because he does not hold back when his enemies suffer.
In Ultimate Universe #1 by Jonathan Hickman and Stefano Caselli, Iron Lad and Doctor Doom are seen searching for the dungeon where the God of Thunder resides. An Asgardian is imprisoned because his own people consider him a traitor. After being released from prison, Thor is determined to break free from the people who imprisoned him there.
The God of Thunder heads home first to retrieve his hammer, and what follows is a violent attack on those who betrayed him.
From what can be seen in the new Ultimate Universe, Marvel decided to show a version of the character that is more faithful to Norse mythology. In fact, it is clear that they want to get away from their heroism and perhaps they intend to repeat the concepts.
