According to The Hollywood Reporter, popular actor Keanu Reeves has joined the cast of Sonic 3 to play Shadow. The news came after a first look at the film was shared at CinemaCon 2024, which saw the return of Sonic, Tails and Knuckles, as well as the return of Jim Carrey’s Doctor Robotnik.
After watching the nods voiced by Idris Elba in Sonic 2, it made sense that the producers responsible for adapting the video game franchise would want a big-name star to play Shadow. Now, let’s hope that justice is done to the character, and the fans are satisfied with the result.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 will hit theaters on December 20, 2024.
