The original Buffy show ran for seven seasons from 1997 to 2003 and spawned the spin-off Angel, which ran for five seasons. The franchise was very popular at the time, and thus, it was announced that they are planning to make a new series of this universe in 2018. Unfortunately, this idea never took shape. However, after several months, we finally have an update on the progress of this reboot.
Country singer Dolly Parton gave an update on the franchise’s revival. Many do not know that the star was an uncredited producer on the original series through the company Sandolar Productions, so it is possible that she will be involved in the next project at Sega. Here’s what Parton had to say: “They’re still working on it. They are thinking of bringing it back and renovating it.
While Parton’s words are optimistic, they don’t exactly say what to expect from the new series, or whether they’ll go all the way through the project and not finish everything. The good thing about these comments is that they are working to find a way to shape plans for a new Buffy show.
The last update shared about the new series was in 2022, where it was announced that the show was going on hiatus. Let’s hope it doesn’t take too long this time to figure out how the project is going.
