The film based on the popular Mattel toy proved to be a huge success, breaking many box office records and becoming the highest grossing film of the year. With such successes, many thought that the next step was certain, but it is not so.
During an interview with AP Entertainment, Robbie was asked what she thought of Barbie 2 and the actress gave an answer that shocked fans.
“I think we’re going to put everything into this [película]. We didn’t build it to be a triad or anything like that. “It was like Greta put everything into this movie, so I can’t imagine what’s going to happen next.”
Both Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig have expressed no hope of another film about the doll, but the studio has the final say, they just had to convince the lead actress in the long-awaited sequel. Getting into production..
