The new episode of ‘Tron’ has started filming under the direction of Joachim Ronning.

The much-anticipated TRON 3, directed by Joachim Rønning, known for his work on “Maleficent: Evil Mistress of Evil” and “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” has officially begun filming. Reining himself announced the stylized Tr3n logo on Instagram by sharing an image featuring the director’s chair and the film’s clapperboard.

Gillian Anderson (The X-Files, Sex Lessons) has joined the cast in an undisclosed role, Deadline Hollywood has confirmed. While Disney has not released any plot details, it is known that Jared Leto (Morbius, Suicide Squad) will play Ares, a character who manages to escape the Grid and enter the real world.

Remember, in the climactic setting of “Tron: Legacy,” Olivia Wilde’s character, Quorra, becomes the first computer algorithm to break free from the grid. Ares seems to be the second character to achieve this transition.

Return of some actors?

No word yet on the return of Garrett Hedlund or Wilde. “Legacy” hints at a third film, starring Cillian Murphy as Edward Dillinger Jr.
