Ministries were finding places between betting on streaming platforms and audience polls. The fact that it tells a closed story in a small part encourages more people to give it a chance over other titles rather than knowing how long it will last or if it has an ending. It was clear that Netflix had a lot of faith in this adaptation of Anthony Doerr’s Pulitzer-winning novel of the same name, as they launched their promotional campaign much earlier than usual on the platform. It also doesn’t hurt that the miniseries was created by Steven Knight, the creator of ‘Peaky Blinders’, and the show was handled by ‘Stranger Things’ executive director Shawn Levy, who worked on ‘Deadpool 3′. Before the actors’ strike crippled the long-awaited Marvel movie.
Of course, all of this anticipation hasn’t translated into good reviews, as it has a 23% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes, while on Metacritic it has to settle for a 36 out of 100. Audiences quickly made it number 1 in over 50 countries, including Spain and the United States.
‘The Light You Can’t See’ tells us in only 4 episodes, which leaves a duration of less than four hours, about the relationship between Marie-Laure, a young woman who is willing to risk her life. Werner, a German who is forced to broadcast the entire bombing on radio and join the Nazi army, leads a cast that includes little-known Aria Mia Loberti and Louis Hoffman, Hugh Laurie and Mark Ruffalo.
Now we have to see if ‘The Light You Can’t See’ is one of the best Netflix miniseries despite its bad reviews, or at least makes it into our list of best Netflix series. 2023. What should not be excluded is the fact that it can be included in the list of viewers in the history of the platform, especially after the change in the mechanics introduced to measure the audience.
