Zack Snyder revealed that Tom Cruise was interested in bringing a certain character to life in the upcoming film.

On the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Snyder Cruise commented that he would like to play Rorschach. However, the filmmaker wanted to be a version of Ozymandias, because the famous director Jackie Earle Haley chose to be Rorschach.
“I wanted Tom Cruise for Ozymandias. Tom wanted to play Rorschach. I wanted to play Rorschach, which I obviously could do. But yes, we had Jackie and Jackie is amazing! I mean, but if I hadn’t had Jackie, I would have thought of Tom in retrospect.
Cruise’s version of Rorschach was interesting as the actor was not used to this type of role. Also, the star’s commitment to the characters shows that the casting was a huge success. Fortunately, Snyder had Jackie in the role, so I highly doubt fans will think the director made a mistake in casting him.
