10 Times Kakashi Proved He Was The Best Mentor

Kakashi is a ninja mentor with many iconic moments. As one of the most beloved characters of all time, when did he shine as a better mentor?

This is one of Kakashi’s most notable quotes because of the level-headed way he took control of Kakuzu’s attention. Since the Akatsuki member has lived, it has been difficult to impress him, but Kakashi managed to do even more – he managed to challenge Kakuzu. However, while it’s undeniably a cool line that defines an awesome moment, Kakashi has some quotes that stand out even more because of their hilarity or timely advice, which is why this entry is the last on the list.

“Your social skills seem to need some work.”

Boruto, season 1, episode 95: “Tactics for getting along with your daughter”

Your social skills seem to need some polishing.

Sasuke and Sakura’s relationship is a bit contentious, and problems persist with his family. Boruto. Sasuke’s absence from Sa Sarada’s life has made it difficult for the two to find common ground. Used to being alone, Sasuke didn’t really know how to approach his daughter and how to identify with her. Luckily, Kakashi came to his rescue with some advice from his favorite book, Makeup tactics. Considering Jiraiya’s novel is more or less a romantic adventure, it’s hard to imagine what Kakashi could get out of it as far as a father/daughter relationship goes.

It’s also quite funny that Kakashi never had children. His parenting approach probably isn’t the one to follow, but he was right about Sasuke: his social skills were never exceptional. However, given Kakashi’s upbringing, it’s something he can probably relate to and the words were ones he had probably taken to heart at some point..

“I find it really reassuring to have you there.”

Naruto Shippuden, season 5, episode 219: “Kakashi Hatake, the Hokage”

Might Guy gives Kakashi Hatake flowers to congratulate Kakashi on becoming Hokage in Naruto: Shippuden.
Image via Studio Pierrot.

Listen, Guy. I find it really reassuring to have you there and I hope you always will be.

Some of the best relationships in Naruto are platonic friendships, and one of the best examples of this is the relationship between Guy and Kakashi. With a close bond since childhood, Guy and Kakashi’s relationship has certainly had many defining moments, but almost none have been as memorable as their run after Kakashi was announced as the next Hokage. After the race, Guy gives Kakashi flowers and mentions that he doesn’t think Kakashi will have time to complete any more challenges.

However, Kakashi counters with this moving quote. This demonstrates how far Kakashi has come since his childhood, when he rejected those around him. Often, Guy was the one who had to maintain the bond between the two, but here Kakashi confirms that he cares just as much about the other shinobi. This quote also shows how Kakashi has come to rely on those around him in a broader sense, as he is able to express feelings that he would have repressed in the past.

“If you don’t want it, that’s fine with you.”

Naruto Shippuden, season 3, episode 8: “Team Kakashi, deployed”

Kakashi Hatake climbs a mountain with one hand behind his back in Naruto.

Some people want power, but they get angry when they don’t get it. They vent their fury on everyone around them. However, if you don’t want it, that’s up to you.

Those who actively seek power are not the ones who should enjoy such status. Although they truly aspire to a place at the top, power-hungry people are usually the type to abuse their power. They feel entitled, and if they don’t get what they want, everyone around them will feel their anger. However, those who least desire power are the ones it clings to. However, Kakashi’s quote doesn’t just apply to power.

Anything that attracts attention and consumes a person in life is almost guaranteed to become something they will become. Constantly worrying about failure could potentially lead to failure. Worrying about missing something is almost guaranteed to be missed because the attention was in the wrong place. The old adage “Be careful what you wish for” is similar in theory, so it’s imperative to be careful with one’s focus to ensure you don’t act out what you least want.

“Every day I eat, sleep, and worry about stupid things.”

Kakashi Hiden, page 188

Every day I eat, sleep and worry about stupid things. My job is to make sure these kids have as many days as possible where they can be idiots like this.

When a person becomes Hokage, they hold the highest power in their village. While some would expect Hokage to act high and mighty, Kakashi did not change after becoming Hokage. He took his new title seriously and understood its implications. Kakashi always had a simple way of expressing himself. Additionally, he feels likeable because he openly admits to enjoying the simplicity of life. However, he understands the importance of protecting his people.

Kakashi’s 10 Most Powerful Abilities, Ranked

Naruto’s Kakashi Hatake has long set the bar as the strongest and smartest ninja in Hidden Leaf, and his unique skills have backed it up.

While there’s certainly merit to being concerned, as it keeps a person on their toes, it’s just as important to revisit some of Kakashi’s previous statements. He’s the kind of person who knows that focusing too much on the dark aspects of his own worries is more likely to make them come true. In a world where his biggest concern is giving kids time to just be kids, he does his best. This quote certainly emphasizes Kakashi’s morals, but others capture his character even better, which is why this Kakashi line is in 15th place.

“You ate all the bean buns, didn’t you?”

Boruto, Season 1, Episode 9: “Steam Ninja Scrolls: The Haunted Inn”

Might Guy and Kakashi Hatake play robed ping pong in Steam Ninja Scrolls' Haunted Station during Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.

You ate all the bean jam buns, didn’t you?

Rather than blaming a ghost for eating all the bean jam buns while Kakashi and Guy enjoyed their little vacation together in Steam Ninja Scrolls, the former Hokage was pretty sure his eternal rival had them all devoured. Kakashi and Guy have always had the kind of hilarious relationship that sparks a lot of funny banter, so seeing the couple on vacation together after their supposed retirement promised plenty of laughs. Their stay in a seemingly haunted hotel provided much of the promised humor.

Knowing that Guy would have to admit that he ate the buns, rather than believing that there was a ghost in their room at the resort, Kakashi pushed him to confess to his crimes. Guy still wouldn’t admit it, but knowing him, there was a good chance he ate them. To be fair to Guy, though, there were hints of a supernatural entity that might have done the deed instead.

“The protruding nail is hammered.”

Naruto, season 1, episode 5: “You failed! Kakashi’s Final Decision »

Kakashi Hatake prepares to use Thousand Years of Death on Naruto Uzumaki during the Bell Test in the original Naruto anime.

It is said that the nail that protrudes will be driven in.

When Kakashi first met Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura, the three ninjas had to undergo a test to prove their worth as Genin before taking them on as students. Kakashi was known for failing students who didn’t meet his expectations of what it took to become a ninja. While most people would take this to mean they were fit and highly skilled, what he was always looking for was a team he knew he could trust and would always support each other.

As fans saw in the original, as well as in the countless filler episodes that picked up on Team 7’s challenge. Tasked with taking two bells from Kakashi within a time limit, this test put them through tough times. test on the first day. Sasuke took up the challenge. However, he arrogantly believed that he stood a chance against the Jonin because he was nothing like his peers. After Kakashi quickly proved Sasuke wrong by catching him with his Earth Style: Headhunter Jutsu, he recognized the ninja’s unique skills and qualities. However, he was quick to remind Sasuke that different is not inherently better.

“I have a lot of things I want to protect as a Shinobi.”

Naruto Shippuden, season 5, episode 226: “The first and the last opponent”

Kakashi Hatake fights against a reanimated Zabuza in Naruto: Shippuden.

I have many things that I want to protect as a Shinobi.

One of the most interesting dynamics of Naruto the franchise is introduced at the start of the first arc. Haku and Zabuza have a strong bond, with Haku’s death greatly affecting Zabuza. However, when the two are revived, they no longer have their bond. Kakashi remarks how happy he was that they were the first enemies Team 7 faced, and that he wanted to protect the way the two had died by granting them death again.

Additionally, reuniting with Zabuza and Haku made Kakashi think about his own goal of protecting those he cares about. As a shinobi, Kakashi does not seek to gain more power for himself or his village, but rather wishes to provide a better life for the vulnerable civilians living there. Additionally, he wants children to learn how to be shinobi as protected as possible. This quote from Kakashi succinctly sums up his motivations.

“I won’t allow myself to lose…”

Boruto, Season 1, Episode 36, “The Graduation Exam Begins!” »

I will never allow myself to lose to immature schoolchildren who date and refuse to grow up.

Boruto’s arrogance is a point of contention for almost every adult in the Hidden Leaf Village. Because his father is Hokage, Boruto has familiar relationships with many important people in the village, such as Lord Sixth, Kakashi Hatake. Despite their familiarity, Kakashi isn’t one to mess around when it comes to ninja training, not even for the son of the current Hokage.

He knows full well that to succeed in this field, you have to grow, even if you are not ready.. Kakashi experienced this firsthand when his father committed suicide, and he saw Naruto himself finally accept the idea that growing up would be the only way for him and his friends to survive the Fourth Great Ninja War. Boruto proved to everyone around him that he wasn’t ready to become a ninja yet. Arrogance would only get him so far before Kakashi put him in his place.

11

“Those who don’t have much ability tend to complain more.”

Naruto, season 1, episode 4: “Success or failure: test of survival”

In society, those who don’t have many abilities tend to complain more.

Kakashi was certainly never one to water down his opinions for the sake of others. Although he may seem quite harsh, he is usually right. Objectively, not everyone is born with the agility and power necessary to become a shinobi. However, those who truly seek to become one must put in the time and effort to achieve their goals. When Kakashi said this, he was not criticizing those who were born without such strengths. However, he condemned those who lack the perseverance and determination to hone their abilities, and this sentiment earned this quote its middle place.

Naruto: 10 Characters Kakashi Can Defeat (And 9 He Can’t)

True to his reputation, Kakashi Hatake stands above most Naruto characters, but which ones are actually stronger than him?

Naruto is a great example of someone who finally took this to heart. He had a wealth of chakra within him and the ability to become much more than the jointed-headed prankster everyone in Hidden Leaf knew. When he struggled to master even the simplest concepts under Iruka’s tutelage, he complained about it quite a bit, but as he began to flourish, the complaints lessened. At least those concerning his abilities.

“…I envy you to be surrounded by the people you love and who are dear to you.”

Boruto, season 1, episode 168: “Training Begins!” »

In our time, we have carried out many difficult missions. Plus, my teammates died during them. If you ask me, I envy you being surrounded by the people you love and are dear to you.

There are many motivational characters and moments in the Naruto franchise, which extends to Boruto franchise as well. Kakashi takes it upon himself to train Boruto after Boruto and his friends are defeated. When speaking with Boruto, the young shinobi mentions that he is jealous that Kakashi was sent on dangerous missions at a young age, believing that if he had had enough experience himself, he could have prevented that one of his friends gets hurt.

However, Kakashi tells Boruto that he is envious of Boruto’s generation. Kakshi lost many of his closest friends and family at a young age because they were forced to fight whenever they could. The fact that Kakashi is able to show this to Boruto is important for the young Uzumaki to understand that fighting is not a good thing, regardless of the cause, while simultaneously inspiring Boruto to be grateful for what he has. he has.

“Those who do not have the decency to respect the memory of their comrades are the worst.”

Naruto, season 1, episode 5: “You failed! Kakashi’s Final Decision »

Kakashi Hatake makes hand signs in the original Naruto anime.

Those who ignore their peers so easily are worse than trash. Those who don’t even have the decency to respect the memory of their comrades are simply the worst.

Kakashi respects the rules of the shinobi world, but he also adheres to his own moral compass. If someone breaks the written and unwritten rules of the shinobi world, they are considered scum and are essentially ousted. However, Kakashi believes that dishonoring and abandoning one’s friends makes that person significantly less respectable than the average offender.

Considering Kakashi’s complicated and tragic history of rule-breaking, the fact that he propagates this sentiment means even more. After Kakashi’s father broke the rules and was shamed for it, Kakashi became a strict follower of the rules. However, after Obito’s perceived death, Kakashi changed his tone to conform to what Obito believed. The reason Kakashi is so adamant that other shinobi know that abandoning friends is the worst crime is because of his own guilt over almost choosing the mission over his teammates as a child, which makes this quote from Kakashi very moving.

8

“If you don’t have it, you’ll never do what it takes to change.”

Boruto, season 1, episode 37: “The Determination of a Shinobi”

Kakashi Hatake catches a kunai blade between his fingers in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.

If you don’t have it, you will never do what needs to be done to change.

Determination is the most important motivator for a ninja. After Kakashi secretly spied on Boruto and his friends, he determined that there weren’t many members of his class with the determination to become a chunin. Having grown up in a world without war or threat, it is impossible for Boruto’s generation to understand how important it is to remain steadfast in their resolve if they want to not only succeed but also survive.

Kakashi’s approach may have been questionable, but it turned out there was a method to his madness. He was teaching a lesson that he demonstrated long before passing Team 7. Teamwork is a key part of their survival. They are each other’s determination, but they don’t recognize it until he tries to pit them against each other.

7

“Everyone you’re talking about has already been killed.”

Naruto, season 3, episode 108: “Bitter Rivals and Broken Bonds! »

Kakashi Hatake talks to a tied up Sasuke Uchiha in Naruto.
Image via Studio Perriot.

Everyone you’re talking about has already been killed… You’re not the only one who knows what it’s like to lose someone.

Sasuke’s motivation to seek revenge on Itachi for killing the Uchiha clan appears very early in the series. After one of Sasuke’s attempts to pursue his goal, Kakashi manages to capture him, subsequently trying to dissuade Sasuke from his reckless plan. Angry, Sasuke spits that he will kill everyone Kakashi loves, so that Kakashi will know exactly how he feels. With a smile, Kakashi mentions that everyone he cares about is already dead.

While this isn’t entirely true, as it’s clear that Kakashi still has friends in the village, it was certainly true when Kakashi was a child. Despite this, he still managed to stay on the side of moral good, fighting to protect his village and what was right. He knows better than anyone what it’s like to be alone, which means he can understand Sasuke’s plight, even if he doesn’t agree with Sasuke’s actions.

“Today I got lost on the path of life.”

Naruto, season 1, episode 20: “A new chapter begins: the Chunin exam! »

Hello students. Today I got lost on the path of life.

One thing about Kakashi-sensei is that the man never runs out of excuses for being fashionably late. Arriving when he wanted was one of his first signatures. However, this quote stands out from his long list of creative excuses. It’s a simple excuse, but since it’s one of the first things the shinobi says in the Naruto anime, it leaves the audience curious about who he really is as a character. It seemed strange that such a carefree man would find himself leading a trio with such strong personalities.

Kakashi Hatake is one of the strongest characters in the Naruto franchise, but just how powerful is he?

However, Kakashi quickly proved himself the best mentor for this group of daring ninjas. Getting lost on the path of life speaks to Kakashi’s depth and introspective nature, a side of him that he doesn’t often share with the people around him. His carefree reputation is a nice cover-up for the torment that has consumed him since he lost his friends and former team members. The depth hidden behind this quote is why it is ranked number five.

5

“As for my hobbies…I have many.”

Naruto, season 1, episode 4: “Success or failure: test of survival”

Kakashi reads lazily "Make paradise" in the original Naruto anime.

My name is Kakashi Hatake. Things I love and things I hate? I don’t want to tell you that. My dreams for the future? I never really thought about it. As for my hobbies… I have a lot of hobbies.

When Kakashi asked his students to introduce themselves, Sakura protested. She maintained that all three knew nothing about him either. They didn’t know what he liked or didn’t like, his hobbies or his goals. Kakashi delivered a sarcastic introduction that showcased his dry sense of humor for all to see, and while that should have been enough for the future Team 7 to get a pretty good look at their sensei’s personality, they still had a lot to learn. Kakashi.

When he says he has a lot of hobbies, it paints a pretty funny picture, especially for fans who know him well.. The only hobby he was ever really seen participating in was reading Jiraiya’s popular book. Makeup tactics books. He was also seen lying lazily in a field while he was Hokage, which could be considered a hobby if relaxing was high on the list.

4

“You are a bunch of idiots.”

Naruto, season 1, episode 4: “Success or failure: test of survival”

Team 7, consisting of Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura Haruno, Naruto Uzumaki and Kakashi Hatake, takes their first photo in the Naruto anime series.
Image via Studio Perriot.

Hmm… How to say that? My first impression of this group: you are a bunch of idiots.

Since Kakashi was already late for his first meeting with his students, Naruto thought it would be funny to play a prank on him by sticking an eraser in the doorway, only to have it fall on his head after his entrance. The prank worked, despite Sasuke and Sakura’s skepticism. After meeting Team 7 for the first time, Kakashi wasn’t shy about telling his students what he thought of them, and this set the tone for how they worked together from the start.

With Iruka being a bit more laid back when it comes to teaching, there’s no doubt that Team 7 was completely unprepared for Kakashi’s style. He had no qualms about telling them how things really were, even if he thought they were idiots. They may not have taken his behavior seriously at first, but they all quickly learned that he wasn’t afraid to speak honestly, no matter the consequences.

3

“You think you have it figured out, but that’s not the same as actually getting it.”

Naruto, season 1, episode 4: “Success or failure: test of survival”

Kakashi Hatake holds two bells while standing in a forest in the original Naruto anime.
Image via Studio Perriot.

No, you don’t understand. I’m telling you this because you don’t. You think you’ve got it, but that’s not the same as actually getting it. Get it?

After Naruto incorrectly stated that he understood what Kakashi meant when he said that a ninja should be able to see through deception, he was quickly corrected. Although he seemed condescending, Kakashi explained that believing you understand something is not the same as actually understanding the concept in the grand scheme of things. It’s a tough life lesson, and Naruto took his time learning.

Fast forward to Naruto: Shippudenwhen Kakashi was trying to teach him how to improve his Rasengan by infusing him with another nature of chakra. This shows that it takes more than just thinking about something, even if the concept seems simple, to actually think about it. Luckily, Naruto had all these clones he could summon to help him process the information and ‘obtain’ it, but even that still took time.

2

“Having a grace period like that isn’t that big of a deal.”

Boruto, season 1, episode 35, “The Parent-Teacher Conference”

Kakashi Hatake as Sukea gives advice to Boruto in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.
Image via Studio Perriot.

Walking down a path without knowing where you really want to go… Having a grace period like that isn’t so bad. But if that’s all you do, you’ll run into barriers you can’t break down.

Boruto had it easy for a long time. His biggest complaints were that his father was never around or that he was too busy to pay attention to him. He did a lot to attract attention, usually by causing trouble in the village, but he proved incredibly legitimate for a long time. Not having a direction in life didn’t seem urgent to him at all, but Kakashi had some good advice that helped him get a little closer to the right path.

Wandering through life is one thing, but it can’t last forever. Sure, Boruto and his friends are just kids, but they’re training to become ninja and kunoichi, which takes focus and determination. The skills needed to overcome life’s obstacles are learned by striving to get somewhere. Without these skills, it becomes impossible to walk the path, let alone achieve something that you can be proud of.

1

“It will be a miracle!”

Naruto, season 1, episode 4: “Success or failure: test of survival”

If I’m still sane by the time I finish their training, it will be a miracle.

One of Kakashi’s funniest lines in Naruto It was then that he realized that training Team 7 to become competent ninjas was definitely not going to be an easy task. Even though he always saw their potential, Kakashi had a funny way of showing it.. Although this quote is only in the English version, it is still hilarious. Between Sakura’s inability to focus on anything other than impressing Sasuke to win his heart, and Naruto’s constant rivalry with Sasuke, leading them to become respectable ninjas capable of getting the job done was no easy feat. . As this quote further puts into perspective the incredible feats Team 7 ends up accomplishing, they deserved the top spot.

Naruto’s Most Complex Character Isn’t Who You Might Think

Naruto has many compelling characters with great depth, but none more complex than Team 7’s sensei, Kakashi Hatake.

He may not take credit for it, but there’s no denying that even though Team 7 struggled to function as a unit for years, they learned one of their most important lessons. They were protective of each other, even Naruto and Sasuke when they were at odds. They worked together as a team.
