New photos from the Superman Metropolis set reveal not only the comic-accurate Daily Planet logo, but also an interesting nod to Tim Drake’s existence in the DCU.
Cleveland is being transformed into the DCU’s Metropolis for the new Superman movie. The famous Daily Planet building has been spotted, and hopefully future photos from the set will finally show the cast in action. While we can expect to see the likes of Clark Kent, Lois Lane, and Jimmy Olsen, there’s always the possibility that The Man of Tomorrow will make an appearance. Fans have shared more photos of the city, and these include some notable Easter eggs.
A bar with a logo and history that is faithful to the comic
For starters, the Daily Planet logo will be faithful to the comic. As many fans have pointed out on social media, this is a huge improvement over the generic office building seen in the DCEU.
Another interesting point is the bar called “Wounded Duck”. In the comics, Earth-2’s version of Tim Drake opened an institution of the same name, leading many fans to believe that this Robin must be part of the DCU.
A nod to the Bat-Family
“The Brave and the Bold” is definitely possible because it introduces the bat family; However, this indicates that Bruce Wayne was working with Dick Grayson, Jason Todd and Tim Drake before he met his son Damian.
Like the Jitters coffee shop that also appeared in Cleveland/Metropolis, we think this is a bit more of an Easter egg.

Easter eggs
The latest Superman set photos have fans excited by the many Easter eggs and comic references. The inclusion of the classic Daily Planet logo was well received, and the “Wounded Duck” bar sparked speculation about a Tim Drake appearance. With a stellar cast and a plot that promises to stay true to the character’s base, this new Superman movie may be one of the most anticipated in the DCU.
Transforming Cleveland into a metropolis is a monumental endeavor. The iconic Daily Planet building is not only nostalgic for comic book fans, but also an indication of the focus the creators are putting into this new rendition of Iron Man.
Superman’s future looks bright, not only a film that pays homage to his roots, but also promises exciting new adventures in the DC Cinematic Universe.
