One of Martin Scorsese’s many iconic gangster films will be available to stream for free next month. From December 1 The deceased will be available for streaming on Tubi.
The eighteen-year-old film, released on October 6, 2006, was an incredible success at the box office, grossing a total of $291.5 million on a budget of $90 million. The deceased was critically acclaimed and currently sits at a solid 91% on Rotten Tomatoes. Unsurprisingly, the Oscar-winning film is often ranked among Scorcese’s best works.

The crime thriller, written by William Monahan, is a remake of the 2002 film. Internal Affairs.The deceased takes place in Boston, Massachusetts, primarily South Boston, and stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Billy Costigan, an undercover cop selected by Sergeant Dignam, played by Bostonian Mark Walhberg, to infiltrate the Irish Mafia. Mob boss Frank Costello, played by Jack Nicholson, simultaneously uses Sergeant Collin Sullivan, played by Matt Damon, who spies on the police on behalf of the mob. The all-star cast, many of whom have previously worked with Scorsese, doesn’t stop there. The film also features performances from Martin Sheen, Ray Winstone, Vera Farmiga and Alec Baldwin.

Scorsese isn’t finished yet and has a few new projects planned for the future, including a film based on the novel. A life of Jesus by Shūsaku Endō. Kent Jones wrote the screenplay, which was reportedly conceived after Scorsese visited the Vatican and met the Pope. The film will follow Jesus in a modern world, set in New York. Although not much is known about the casting so far, Scorsese is keen to bring in Andrew Garfield, star of The Amazing Spider-Man series, on board. Additionally, he is also interested in casting Miles Teller, also known for his superhero role of Mister Fantastic in the 2015 film. Fantastic Four restart.
