The following contains spoilers to Lazarus Episode 3, “Long Way from Home”.
Shinichiro Watanabe Lazarus Slowly designed an increasingly interesting mystery. Dr. Skinner’s Miracle Drug, Hapna, lied to the center of his intrigue from the start. While the public learns more about the villain himself, it becomes clear that it is not the location of Dr. Skinner who makes the biggest enigma of Lazarus-but rather the motivation of the doctor himself who is so mystifying. Actually, Lazarus Episode 3, “Long Way from Home”, seems to have doubled the idea that the greatest mystery of the anime is not really the hiding place of Skinner by revealing exactly where Skinner is already hiding.
As much Lazarus Fans have already underlined on social networks, Dr. Skinner seems to have hidden in sight all the time. In Lazarus Episode 3, Douglas even seems to speak directly to Skinner, all without even realizing who he is. Despite the proximity of Skinner Douglas and Axel, the inadvertent meeting of Douglas with the main villain of the series reveals that the Lazarus team is further from finding him than anyone who could have thought.

Dr. Skinner seems to be hiding in the homeless area all the time
After the team’s tracks are dry at the end of Lazarus Episode 2, the group starts from scratch to try to find everything they can find who will lead them to Dr. Skinner in episode 3. To this end, Douglas is that it could help speak to one of the former colleagues of Skinner, Professor Claude; But the last person heard of Claude is that he was expelled from the Academy and lived in the street. Fortunately, if there is a person who knows almost everything there is to live in the street, it’s Axel. Axel suggests that the group operates in search of Claude in the Babylonia City home district.
The area of the homeless is a section of the city where people who are moved and lowered by luck go when they are all short of options, and it is filled with makeshift huts and tents where people have tried to find a semblance of stability. While looking for Claude among people there, Douglas stops to question a gray hair man wearing glasses. He asks the man “do you know a man named Jerry?”, What is the friend of the anonymous man is created in “Hey Buddy. The guy you are talking to nothing.” It is clear that man’s glasses were more than just a fashion declaration, he and Douglas are embarrassed to have asked a blind person to help him find someone.
The guy you talk to you can see nothing.

1 The subtle details of Lazarus may have changed everything we know about Cowboy Bebop
Since Shinichiro Watanabe accepts Cowboy Bebop and Lazarus as sharing a universe, a silly dialogue line of Axel has changed everything.
However, Douglas was perhaps not also out of the brand he seemed. After a more in-depth inspection, the man with whom Douglas spoke is identical to Dr Skinner himself. He sports the same exact beard and hairstyle as Skinner, and is the same complexion and the same construction. Although this could be happy coincidence, the reality is that it was almost certainly Dr. Skinner. The fact that he does not personally answer the question of Douglas with his own voice only credits this theory, because Skinner Speaking would have been too dead, even for Douglas.
It is certainly possible that this character was placed there by Lazarus“The animated team on purpose to trigger viewers, but its appearance is a little too similar to be a coincidence. With this connection still not confirmed in the anime itself, it is difficult to expand the details. For example, it is impossible to say with certainty if Skinner is really blind or if he simply wore sunglasses as a disguise, or both. However, the fact that Douglas spoke to Skinner and did not even realize that he said a lot about Skinner and Douglas. On the part of Skinner, it shows that its disguise and its hiding place work without a hitch. For Douglas and the rest of Lazarus’ crew, it proves that getting to know a person is really more than “Skinner”.
Skinner hiding at sight is actually corresponds to his personality
Dr. Skinner never seemed to be like committing a horrible crime as he does in Lazarus
A major thread in Lazarus“The first episodes are the apparently good personality of Skinner. With each new proof that the public obtains, Skinner seems to be more and more like a person really in good heart and less to a person who could commit mass murder. Dr. Skinner helps people in need, has a romantic relationship with his grandmother and even donated the prize he received for his scientific achievements to charity. Based on these cases and more, Dr. Skinner does not seem to be the kind of person who would go so far as to kill a good part of humanity just to prove a point.
However, Skinner living among the inhabitants of the homeless region could potentially help reveal a kind of motivation that no one recognized. Skinner can agree with the way homeless people in the homeless region live more than those who live in the city. After all, Skinner was shown once, delivering a speech to the UN by pleading them to make vital changes to economic policy to help protect the environment. If there is a group of people who contribute as little as possible to this system, they are those who live in the homeless region.
He was obsessed. His research blinded him towards everything around him.

Each member of the Lazarus crew explained
The crew behind the creator of Cowboy Bebop New Anime, Lazarus, is a mysterious but eccentric group of superheroes without a Bonhard.
In fact, as I reveal Lazarus Episode 3, many of the homeless people, there is in fact a little happy that the “end of the world” is imminent. For them, life has been made more difficult because the outsets were avoided by the rest of society, so the end of this company seems to be a new welcome paradigm. Skinner can identify with people in the homeless region more than those of the superior levels of the company he had known as his colleagues. In episode 3, Dr. Claude also explains to Douglas that the focus covered by the Skinner tunnel on his research blinded him to everything else around him.
This could also explain why he could actually leave everything to live in the homeless area. Aside from the obvious similarity between Claude saying that Skinner was “blinded” by his research and Skinner posing as a blind man, there is also the fact that Skinner felt disconnected from others by his research. This could be the reason why he abandoned his life of success and scientific study to live among people whose main currency is social interaction and the community.
Dr. Skinner hides in the same place as society never cares to look
Axel’s unique perspective will be Team Lazarus to find Skinner
Although the Babylonian homeless area may seem a strange place to Skinner, it may be the only place where he knows that no one would look for him. People who find themselves on the outskirts of civilized society are often the most neglected, which certainly seems to be the case in Lazarus‘ world. People could see a non -lodi person in front of them, but they dissociate themselves from the struggle of this person in order to prioritize their own situation. By hiding among the poor and the displaced people, Dr. Skinner can make a statement to show that if people would put their own needs aside for a while and care about others, all their own problems could really disappear.
Dr. Skinner explained his greatest concern with modern society from the start: “We have become obsessed with short -term gains in an endless battle against our neighbor.” Skinner fears that people act selfishly without thinking about the situation as a whole, and they have no problem walking on their human colleagues to move forward. The people who walked the most and the most put aside by the rest of the company are found in the Sans-Abri area, which explains in the end why Skinner would have the respect more than anyone. It is quite possible that Jill even knew Skinner in the homeless area all the time, but as they never asked him directly about him, she had no reason to give them information about him.
Jill accepts everyone too and could even opt for someone like Dr Skinner. The only reason the team that Lazarus approached Skinner was because Oxel – a person who lived in the margins of the company – led them there. Axel is someone who, according to Jill, can “be easily done at home”. As she assures Douglas, “no matter where [Axel] is “, and that would even include the homeless area. While Douglas seeks to look for clues from people in the region, Axel is actively at home among them, and this can actually be the way of finding Skinner.

Did Axel actually taken Hapna in Lazarus? (The answer is more complicated than you think)
Axel, the main hero of the Lazarus of Shinichiro Watanabe, is a total enigma; But his series intrepidity could easily be explained by his drug of choice.
It is only in living with people and by getting to know them can find a person in the homeless region, and that is what Skinner probably bets. This is also what differentiates Axel from almost anyone else. Interestingly, Douglas never even asked Dr Skinner Lazarus Episode 3 if it was really Skinner. Instead, all that he asked for was if he had seen Dr. Claude. Skinner may have been honest and just told Douglas who he was asked. In this way, Dr. Skinner may even not be hiding at all. It is possible Skinner wishes to findAnd hopes that humanity can come together and really look for it in the only place they would usually avoid.
At the surface level, Dr. Skinner presents himself just under the nose of Douglas as soon as Lazarus Episode 3 could be considered a fun Easter egg included by the creators of the series to see if viewers pay attention. A deeper look, however, reveals how important this moment is to show who Lazarus“The main villain is really. Dr. Skinner did not take his bad way for the same reasons that motivate most of the anime antagonists. He does not seek power, he does not care about money and he may not even try to take revenge. Instead, Dr. Skinner just wants people to come out of the same type of vision of the tunnel that prevented him from seeing the world around him before. He just waits for someone who really cares about looking in the right place.
