Mike Colter on the MCU?
In an interview with the media Screen Rant, Mike Colter considered the possibility of playing Luke Cage in the MCU. The actor says that there may be more stories to tell about the character, but he is not sure if he would be involved in the MCU.
“I’m sure there’s a lot [más por hacer]. But that’s the Marvel character. I look at it like he has a good chance to play that role and so that’s his character. They can do whatever they want with it, and good luck. If they call me, we’ll talk.” The actor also talked about Charlie Cox’s return as Daredevil: “I’m glad Charlie is back doing Daredevil again because I know he really loves it.. But I had a good run. I really appreciated the opportunity, but I want to concentrate and try other things. I’ve never looked back, but Luke Cage is a great opportunity.”
From what Colter says, there don’t appear to be any plans for the actor to play the hero again. However, Colter says yes. Marvel Studios call him, I would talk to them. The Luke Cage season two finale showed the hero wanting to confront corruption and crime from within. Obviously, there was more story to tell for Luke Cage, so we’ll have to wait and see if Marvel Studios has any plans for the character.
