James Gunn confuses fans once again, as after presenting the DCU as a new universe, he now reveals that he will incorporate moments from the DCEU
The boss of DC StudiosJames Gunn, confirmed in New York Comic Con that some events of DCEU They will be canon in their new universe.
The confusing continuity of the DC Universe will continue under the administration of James Gunn
At the event, Gunn has commented that some aspects of the old DC Universe are part of his DCU canon.
“There are references to things that happened in the past, and those references then become canon in the DCU because we mention them.”
Gunn is almost certainly referring to much of what we saw The Suicide Squad and the Peacemakersomewhat questionable decision. First of all, it’s very difficult to do this well, because many fans won’t understand why some events are considered canon and others not (I highly doubt they are part of the DCU the meeting of Christopher Smith with the Justice League of the DCEU, but clearly a lot of what you see in the series will be).
Another downside to this idea is that DC Studios’ image will be surrounded by controversy, and that’s because most of what remains as canon comes from Gunn’s projects, it seems like the director puts his preferences before what he believes study.
The first DCU project is Commando of creatureswhich will be released in Maximum on December 5th.
