The Hargreaves brothers face their biggest challenge in the final season and we already have the first official images for the Umbrella Academy finale, along with a teaser.
Netflix has kept its promise and today released the highly anticipated fourth and final season of The Umbrella Academy, based on the comic by Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba. But that’s not all. We also have three new preview images and an official synopsis that will leave you wanting more.
The final season of The Umbrella Academy premieres on August 8 and stars Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castaneda, Amy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H Min, Ritu Arya and Colm Feore. Additionally, we’ll see Megan Mullally (Will & Grace), Nick Offerman (The Last of Us) and David Cross (Mr. Show) in these final episodes.
The Hargreaves brothers are scattered following a major confrontation at the Oblivion Hotel, which completely resets their timeline. Each disempowered must find their new normal, varying degrees of success. But the strange elements of their new world are very difficult to ignore for a long time. His father, Reginald, is now alive and well, emerging from the shadows and becoming a public figure, controlling a powerful and sinister business empire.
Guardians’ Riddle
A secret society known as the Guardians holds secret meetings, believing that the reality they live in is a lie and that a great reckoning is coming. As these new forces conspire around them, the Umbrella Academy must come together one last time to put things right, threatening the fragile peace they’ve fought so hard for.
The fun doesn’t end there. Earlier this month, fans discovered a page from the script titled “The Insufferable Tragedy of Getting What You Want,” which offered a chilling look at Mullally and Offerman’s characters, Dr. Jean and Gian Thibedeau, a couple who clearly feel that things aren’t as they should be, or as they should be. They are “alternate timeline archaeologists”.
The power is released
In the year It was in early 2023 that creator and showrunner Steve Blackman wrote the final line of the series finale (S04E06: “The First End”, directed by Paco Cabezas and written by Blackman). This means we now know the titles of the season’s opening and closing episodes (the finale starting with S04E01: “The Insurmountable Tragedy of Getting What You Want,” written by Blackman and Jesse McKeown). Blackman later shared a look at a storyboard that included the title “Power.” Solved.” In the storyboard, a character appears to have developed superpowers, but who will it be?
Offerman and Mullally play Dr. Gene and Jean Thibedeau, “a pair of New Mexico community college professors who wear sensible shoes and experience the worst case of déjà vu this timeline has ever seen.” Meanwhile, Cross’ character, Cy Grossman, is “a respectable, but shy, businessman and family man who desperately wants to be reunited with his estranged daughter and will do whatever it takes to get her back.” All of these characters are original to the streaming series.
