One of the creators of Lanterns, Tom King, talks about the responsibility of bringing these characters into James Gunn’s new DC universe

Tom Kingco-creator of Lanternsexplained how he approached the responsibility of leading the universe of Green Lantern al DCU that James Gunn is building.

Lanterns could be DC’s rebirth

Speaking to Business Insider, King has commented that he believes the Lanterns series will be something of a rebirth of the DC Universe.

“I was friends with Neal Adams, the co-creator of John Stewart, and every time I was in the room, I felt like Neal was yelling at me, ‘Don’t forget where you came from, kid.’ Damon [Lindelof]Chris [Mundy] and I came with a lot of love for the material, and we wanted to do what I’ve always done in comics, which is take these original creations and show why they’re still relevant today and why they can speak to both audiences and fans. It feels like a DC revival. “We are at the beginning of creating an absolutely brilliant world.”

It’s interesting that King thinks that in Lanterns we might see the rebirth of A.DHowever, his statements could also raise doubts, as it is assumed that the film Superman he should have that role in the DCU.
