Netflix has given audiences a new look at Pokemon Concierge, an animated series set to premiere in December. The trailer showcases the series’ stop-motion animation, giving the show a unique identity and the promise of a cozy and relaxing experience in the Pokemon world. While it’s not a typical Pokemon anime, it looks like another welcome addition that caters to all audiences.

The trailer, available on Netflix’s YouTube channel, features the original tropical resort setting in which the show is set, as well as the dynamic duo of the famous butler and the adorable Psyduck. While the show may not be “in season” when it arrives on December 28 in most countries, a relaxing atmosphere could be the perfect way to end 2023.

Pokémon Concierge is animated by Stop-Motion Masters.

The show is produced by The Pokemon Company and Dwarf Studios.

This fun stop-motion animation tells the story of Haru, a maid who works at a Pokémon-only resort, and the guests who come to visit.

As the brevity of the description makes clear, this series has a looser angle, a lifestyle story, possibly independent episodes. Some viewers may find stop-motion too familiar, and with good reason: Dwarf Studios is responsible for Rilakkuma and Kaoru, another Netflix series. After all, it’s more than just knowing how to persuasively voice their subjects. As the trailer shows, the human puppets and Pokemon will move smoothly, making the stop motion even more appealing.

If Dwarf Studios’ last work is any indication, Pokemon Concierge is likely to have a shorter runtime – Rilakkuma’s two seasons were 13-minute and 15-minute long episodes respectively, so expecting the same from this project isn’t out of the question. The show’s theme song was performed by Maria Takeuchi, known for her rendition of the popular urban pop classic “Plastic Love.” As one of the biggest names in the genre, lending her voice to the Pokemon Concierge is a very clear sign that the show is light. December 28 is definitely an unusual time to release such a warm weather show, the annual holiday with any kind of holiday is always welcome. The show should be able to attract the attention of a wide range of viewers – in addition to the more enthusiastic Pokemon fans, those who enjoyed the last work of Dwarf Studios will be able to see their unique stop work and even an unexpected connection with the city. Pop should turn some heads. The popularity of each and every one of these works should prove to Netflix that Pokémon Concierge will be a hit during the post-Christmas break.
