Gotham’s most feared villain takes on a demonic form that takes his madness to a new level in the Absolute universe.
Him Joker has had many faces in its comics history: from the witty clown of the 60s to the unpredictable psychopath of The murderous joke. But nothing prepares fans for what comes next Absolute Jokerthe most monstrous version of the Clown Prince of Crime ever seen.
During a live broadcast of Comic art by Felix A first look at this was presented on October 27th new design that will officially debut in Absolute Batman #15. The image, also shared by DCU Updatesit shows a creature that seems to have come out of hell itself: pale skin, horns, a pointed tail, dorsal plates like a reptile and a mouth full of teeth, “to constantly devour,” according to the artist’s notes.

Absolute Joker has arrived at DC
Nick Dragottathe artist behind this hellish version, achieved the unthinkable: making the Joker seem more demon than human, without losing his iconic characteristics: the smile, the greenish tone of his hair and that crazy glint in his eyes. The writer Scott Snyder He already teased back in September that this incarnation would be something “never before seen in the DC Universe,” and he wasn’t exaggerating.
Some fans compared the look to that Joker Titan From Batman: Arkham Asylumthe video game in which the villain injected himself with a serum that transformed him into a colossal beast. However, the difference is that there are no science experiments here: The Absolute Joker It’s pure nightmare made flesha physical representation of absolute corruption.
As if that wasn’t enough, the Absolute Batman Those who face him are not your typical masked billionaire. In this line, Bruce Wayne is a working class geniusaccompanied by very different versions of famous characters such as Oswald Cobblepot and Harvey Dent. This reinterpretation transforms the confrontation between Batman and Joker into an almost symbolic struggle between human order and the deformity of chaos.

An unexpected twist in the Joker myth
In the first issues of the Absolute label, the Joker was presented as a seemingly normal man, without makeup, known as “he who never laughs”. His nickname was born ironically, and his elegant and calm profile clashed with the usual madness of the character. Snyder explained that was his intention roles reversed: They show a Batman who represented chaos (in the name of justice) and a calculating, cold and methodical Joker.
But all that was a hall of mirrors. Absolute Batman #15 will reveal the definitive transformationand with it, a return to the most grotesque essence of the character. This Joker doesn’t need to laugh; His very presence causes terror. It is literally a reflection of a Gotham where humanity has been devoured by its own demons.
The Absolute universe, DC’s creative laboratory
Him Absolute universe has established itself as one of DC’s most interesting narrative experiments. Under the direction of Scott Snyder, this line offers grittier, more symbolic and twisted reinterpretations of classic heroes and villains. Absolute Batman was its mainstay, with a tone closer to psychological terror than the typical superhero story.

Him Absolute Joker represents the culmination of that vision: a villain who no longer needs jokes to be the most feared clown in the world. Its design is not only intended to have a visual impact, but they embody limitless madness which defines the character from the beginning.
Fans are already speculating about how this monster will fit into the plot and whether his appearance will mean the end of the road for this universe’s Batman. The truth is that, for the first time in years, the confrontation between the two promises to be as physical as it is philosophical: a battle between the man who disguises himself as a monster and the monster who disguises himself as a man.
Absolute Batman #15 will arrive in stores December 10, 2025and promises to be a key issue not only for the saga, but for the future of the Absolute universe.
