The most shocking scene of the last of us

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Mylod revealed the most important aspect of the adaptation of the most controversial moment of the second game of the saga.

“I wanted to avoid manifest torture. I am not very interested in showing violence itself. But what motivated Abby to exercise such an extraordinary violence is infinitely fascinating. Therefore, after having established brutality and, hopefully, exploring part of the context that explains why this young woman was pushed to make such an extraordinary violence and cruelty, I wanted to maintain most of the matter outside the screen.”

Mylod also explained how he managed to make the controversial scene work so well.

“It is a question of working with the actors and, in this case, protecting and supporting Kaitlyn and Bella, who have had to go to become incredibly vulnerable. Much of this is pure intuition. It is a question of connecting empathically with the cast to know when it is the right time to reach that Zen state. We always know when we reach it because I can’t speak after taking or simply cry.”
