A villain born of hate

The story of Hank Henshaw, better known as Cyborg Superman, is tragic and twisted. First introduced in The Adventures of Superman #500 (1993) as part of the “First Sighting – The Man of Tomorrow” story arc, Henshaw was a LexCorp astronaut. During a space mission, he and his team were exposed to dangerous cosmic radiation, which led to the death of his physical body. However, his consciousness managed to survive, merging with LexCorp’s technology, transforming him into a completely cybernetic and deranged being.

This traumatic event of his team’s death and the belief that Superman is responsible for everything that happened, pushed Henshaw into a spiral of madness. From there, he built himself a cybernetic body with Superman-level powers and called himself Cyborg Superman. His obsession with revenge against the Man of Steel has led him to become one of the most dangerous villains in the DC Universe, and his return promises to devastate the new Justice League.

The Watchtower in Danger

Justice League Unlimited, now operating from the Watchtower, is more vulnerable than ever. With a much larger infrastructure and hundreds of members, the Watchtower is not only an advanced operations center, but also a symbol of the power and unity of heroes. However, in the few months since its formation, it has already suffered attacks from traitors and external threats, putting the safety of Earth at risk. The Question and Batwoman have become the voices warning of the dangers that lurk in the darkness of space.

In this issue the mystery of the Watchtower traitors is brutally clarified. Henshaw has assembled a team of powerful allies and is determined to take control of the space station. With his enhanced abilities and mastery of technology, it seems like nothing can stop him. The plot thickens further when it is revealed that the Watchtower heroes have no idea who the traitors are, nor how they were infiltrated.
