The revised Monster Manual finally arrives in its new version. That Dungeons and dragons (D&D) is more alive than ever is evident, and to give continuity to the immense library of adventures that are coming out, a revision has been carried out of the basic books of the game, which are the Player’s Handbook, the Dungeons Guide Master and the Manual of Monsters. With the first two on the market, the one left in the pipeline was the Monsters or Monsters. And we already know the departure date and the first details.
The book will be available in WPN stores and on D&D Beyond from February 4th for Master level subscribers and from February 11th for Hero level subscribers. The Monster Manual 2024 will be released worldwide on February 18, 2025. As usual, the book will be released with two possible covers, the traditional one and the alternative one.
PLAYER’S MANUAL REVIEW HERE
Dungeons and Dragons innovates and updates its Monster Manual with the 2024 version
The new edition of the Dungeons and Dragons Monster Manual promises to maintain the level of the other two manuals already published, in its 2024 version. As in them, the game tables, creatures and other entities have been revised and updated, as well as their art. Everything that came out in 2014 is updated in this way, with a revision of the rules and more than one surprise.
The first big surprise will be the inclusion of up to 500 creatures, 85 of which are new. Everyone will have their classic description and table of statistics and rules, but on this occasion an element has been added that will make the stories more complex: the background and the origin. In the 5th edition version, there was a lack of depth in the creature characters, making them seem like simple NPCs or simply creatures to be defeated. Now, all that background can be used to interact with them in deeper ways, and that’s always a plus for RPG players.
It will not be the only addition to this edition, as the monster level tables have been revised, so the difficulty in facing them will be clearer, allowing you to expand team strategies and not just a “run and kill”, as was the case the case of some of the classic creatures. Without a doubt an incentive for both Masters and Players.
Monsters of land, sea and air together in an essential book
The 50th anniversary edition is wonderful, and it’s the perfect book for creating authentic challenges in games full of dynamism and fun. There will be creatures of all kinds, dragons, giants, melfolk, zombies, walking skeletons, harpies, mind whips and beholders, among many others. All will be ordered in such a way that it is almost intuitive to select them for our adventure and mix them with those present in the various adventure books, such as the one by Vecna.
An extra incentive for those who don’t yet have the books, which makes the other editions just like that, other editions. This completes the Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) core book review cycle, and we can’t wait to get our hands on it. We will do an in-depth review of the three books so that sailors and captains have a complete reference of how comprehensive (and necessary) they are. With the first details of the revised 2024 edition of the Dungeons and Masters Monster Manual it’s clear that it will be every bit as spectacular as the other two major books already revised and released.
