The MCU star lends her voice to Propundo the octopus lover in Season 4 of Boys.
When The Boys returns to our screens with its fourth season, there’s one highlight that stands out above the rest: Propundo’s (Chase Crawford) reunion with his octopus lover Ambrosius. This curious change from the third season brings a new feel by including a familiar voice behind the character, played by popular MCU actress Tilda Swinton.
The series, which stood out for its bold interpretation of superhero culture, saw the return of Ambrosius in its latest episode. It first started in last season’s infamous episode “Herogasm,” where Ambrosius was holed up in Deep One’s apartment in the Vow Tower. Propundo’s communication skills with his cephalopod partner are turned into full-on dialogue, a comical and sarcastic tone to their strange relationship.
Series showrunner Eric Kripke decided that this unique role deserved an equally unique voice: “Once we decided to have a formal conversation with Deep’s wife the Octopus, we looked for the biggest and most majestic British actress we could find. Kripke commented in an interview with EW. The choice fell on Tilda Swinton, whose participation was unexpected as it was well received. He added: “Watching the most beautiful actress record the most ridiculous speech was one of the greatest professional days of my life.”

The season will bring other special guests, which will make fans keep their eyes and ears peeled. With the first three episodes already airing on Prime Video and new episodes every week until the season ends on July 18, expectations are through the roof.
