We review seven instances where Wolverine and Ghost Rider met.
Conflicts between comic book characters with the express purpose of attracting readers are so common that no one is surprised when an issue involving characters that are so far apart, even if they come from different publishers, emerges. However, in this article we will review the existing crossover between two heroes from the same company: Wolverine and Ghost Rider (in any of their incarnations), as you can see if you continue reading this article.
Marvel Comics Presents #64 – 71
Wolverine and Dan Ketch’s Ghost Rider first met in the book of Acts, recounted in this title and the Ghost of the Ancients, Claws and Chains, Dancing in the Dark, An Uneasy Alliance (all published in 1990). ), Mutants, Ninjas and Demons, Tactics of Bronze, Confession is Good for the Soulless and Final Rule (released in 1991).
With Howard Mackie’s scripts and Mark Teixeira’s drawings, this adventure saw Wolverine and Ghost Rider fight each other, as is common in this type of crossover, before deciding to fight together to take down both the Ninja Squad and the Triad.
Fantastic four number 347 – 349
In these three issues titled Big Trouble on Small Earth! (1990), Where Monsters Live! (or… Creatures that roam?) and Eggs Got Legs (both in 1991), we get a fantastic Fantastic Four line-up, which includes Wolverine and Ghost Rider in addition to Noble Kale, Spiderman and the Hulk. With scripts by Walter Simonson and art by Arthur Adams and Gracie Tanaka, this fourth installment must face familiar threats from the original Fantastic Four, such as the Mole Man and the Skrulls.

X-Men #8 and 9 and Ghost Rider #26 and 27
Wolverine and Dan Ketch’s Ghost Rider reunited and alternated between titles in the shared adventures January and Claw and The Not So Big Easy (both 1992), written by Scott Lobdell and Jim Lee as illustrators, and the Vengeful Ghost series, including Blood Feud! We highlight chapters. And revenge. Pure and Simple (written the same year), with scripts by Howard McKee and illustrations by Ron Wagner. The vanquishing enemy in this saga is an alien race known as The Nest.
Ghost Rider / Wolverine / The Punisher: The Dark Design
Although a few years later, this comic (made in 1994) acts as a sequel to the aforementioned Hearth of Darkness, with Wolverine and Dan Cates teaming up again with the Punisher in their fight against the Ghost Rider Blackheart. Ron Gurney replaced John Romita Jr. on the pictures, while Howard Mackey returned as screenwriter.
Wolverine number 148
The Fantastic Four special lineup we talked about in the previous episode was reunited in the adventure written by Erik Larson and drawn by Roger Cruise (2001). Wolverine and Dan Ketch’s Ghost Rider (instead of Noble Kale, as in the original story) along with the Hulk and Spider-Man, face off against a host of foes in this epic take on the apocalypse.
Ghost Rider / Wolverine: Weapons of Vengeance
We will conclude with a review of the debate between the two characters in this saga split between Wolverine and Johnny Blaze’s Ghost Rider, as well as a copy of both to start the saga and another to finish. The adventure is divided chronologically into four parts: Ghost Rider/Woverine: Weapon of Vengeance Alpha: Compassion for the Devil, Ghost Rider #17: Demonic, Wolf #36: Possessions and Ghost Rider/Wolverine: Weapon of Vengeance Omega: Ours is Better. Monsters (all published this year), with scripts by Benjamin Percy and illustrations by Geoff Shaw.
In this adventure, both characters follow the footsteps of Bram Straub, related to an old unpublished adventure of the two superheroes, which must have been in the 1980s.
Will Wolverine and Ghost Rider cross paths in the MCU?
The movie Avengers: Secret Wars is planned for release in 2027, in which everything shows that Wolverine will appear, like other Marvel characters brought to films by other companies, so it could indicate the presence of Ghost Rider. A movie or another Canadian mutant will also appear, although at the moment Nicolas Cage does not seem to be very interested in the job, as we commented at the time.
