It has been revealed that The Acolyte will not move forward with a second season, which makes the Star Wars The series will only air for one season. While fans of the series are expressing their disappointment, series star Manny Jacinto has shared his reaction.
On Instagram, Jacinto posted an image of The Acolyte of his character, Qimir, standing alongside Osha, played by Amandla Stenberg. In the caption of the article, Jacinto included a simple heart emojisuggesting he is emotional about the cancellation. Many fans in the comments section are crying foul over Disney’s cancellation of the series, with one much-loved comment noting, “You both deserved so much better.”

Before it was confirmed that the series would not have a second season, Jacinto also spoke about what he wanted to see if the story were to continue. He said that the fan art he had seen of Osha and the Stranger had him intrigued to explore a possible romance in season 2.
“In the fan art that I’ve seen, there’s a lot of stuff that implies… something between Osha and the Stranger,” Jacinto explained, according to GQ“It’s something that people have been looking forward to in this genre, or at least in this franchise, and I like that people are interested in it and encouraging it. So I think people can expect more of that genre, maybe. If people want, we can explore that in a later season.”
The first and only season of The Acolyte is broadcast on Disney+.
