Star Trek: Starfleet Academy hasn’t been released yet, and season 2 of the series has already been greenlit

The team behind the new Star Trek show was present at the event New York Comic Conand there they confirmed that the project has already been renewed for a second season, as well as revealing that an actress from the Marvel Cinematic Universe has joined the cast.

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy is the next chapter in the saga

At the event, showrunner and executive producer Alex Kurtzman announced that Starfleet Academy has been renewed for season 2. It was also revealed that She-Hulk star Tatiana Maslany will be joining the show as a special recurring guest star in the first season.

The series Star Trek created by Gaia Violo includes a cast consisting of Holly Hunter, Kerrice Brooks, Bella Shepard, George Hawkins, Karim Diane, Zoë Steiner, Tig Notaro, Robert Picardo, Sandro Rosta, Paul Giamatti, Gina Yashere, Mary Wiseman, Oded Fehr and Tatiana Maslany.

The first season of the project is expected Fundamental+ will be released in 2025 or 2026
