Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, the joint creation of Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau, officially confirms its production with a photo of the cast

The series, produced by CBS Studios, introduces us to a group of young cadets who, full of hope and optimism, embark on the adventure of their lives. These aspiring Starfleet officers must learn not only to operate ships and complete missions, but also to face the personal challenges that arise in such a demanding environment. “School’s in session, cadets! Today marks the official start of production as a phase of Star Trek welcomes Starfleet Academy“. This message, posted on the official Instagram account, was accompanied by a series of images of the team in and out of the first table read. These images not only confirm that production is underway, but also give us a behind-the-scenes look at the talent that will make this new adventure possible.
The distribution of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy is as varied as it is interesting, led by Holly Hunter, who plays the captain and chancellor of the Academy. Along with her, Paolo Giamatti, known for his role in Billionstakes on the role of the season’s villain, ensuring that the cadets will have a villain to match. Joining this duo are young talents Kerrice Brooks, Bella Shepard, George Hawkins, Karim Diane, Zoë Steiner and Sandro Rosta, who will bring the cadets in training to life.
Additionally, the series will feature a recurring appearance by Gina Yashere as an Academy instructor, as well as returning fan-favorite characters. Tig Notaro and Robert Picardo join the cast as series regulars, reprising their roles as Jett Reno and The Doctor, respectively. Meanwhile, Oded Fehr and Mary Wiseman will guest star, reprising their roles as Admiral Vance and Sylvia Tilly.

Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau, who serve as showrunners, are the minds behind this ambitious production.
