Ravensburger, the award-winning brand of high-quality board games, toys and puzzles, has announced its new collection of Shimmering Skis, which joins the popular Disney Lorcana trading card game line. During the June 12, 2024 Lorecast event, Ravensberger revealed some details about Shimmering Skies, the fifth Dini Lorcana TCG set, which not only introduces new Disney characters and improved game mechanics, but also gives players a preview of what’s to come. The kingdom, now that power-hungry Ursula’s spark has been defeated.
Shimmering Skies is the fifth installment of Disney’s Lorca series, and it comes with a surprise
Shimmering Skies will first be released at select retailers and Disney parks on August 9, 2024, followed by select toy stores and Disney Stores on August 23, 2024. Ravensburger also has Shimmering Foil Card Skies available for a limited time at the entrance to the Disney Villainous: Evil board game, along with an optional illustration, which includes an ID sticker. These copies, along with the foil card, are available in select stores and toy stores.
A new card special foil edition from the Shimmering Skies collection is available with new copies of the Dini Villainous: Introduction to Evil board game. First introduced in 2023 as a limited Disney100 offering, Disney Villainous: The Intro of Villain brings together some of the franchise’s original Disney villains (Maleficent, Captain Hook, Ursula and Prince John from Robin Hood) at one price, making it ideal for beginners thanks to both the game’s fan feedback and the Ravensburger team’s development of the Disney Villainous game system. Video inputs and improved gameplay based on experience.
To celebrate the game’s release at select retailers and stores, the Disney Villain team will be donating their classic art style to the Skyscraper card: Prince John. This Disney Lorcan TCG card can be found in copies of the new Disney Villainous: Introduction to Evil board game with a special sticker on the cover.
Shimmering Skies will most likely star in the Disney film Wreck-It Ralph
Shimmering Skies as Vanellope Von Schweetz and Repair-Felix Jr. Introducing characters from Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph movie, it brings unique new images and characters, accompanied by electric energy, which adds to the celebrations and the game. More information about the mechanics and other cards will be revealed closer to launch. All of the cards in this set can be used to update or customize existing Disney Lorcana TCG decks, or to play with previously released sets: The First Chapter, The Flood, Into the Inklands, and Ursula’s Return.
The Disney Lorcana TCG Shimmering Skies set includes two starter decks with emerald-steel or amethyst-ruby combinations (€19.99), with additional cards (€5.99) and a new Illuminator trove (€54. €99). New accessories include 2 playables featuring images of Mirabelle from Disney’s Charmed and Belle’s Secret Sparkle from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (€19.99).
Plus, a new card album with 9 page pockets comes with illustrations by Disney’s Lorcan artist Nicholas Cole (€24.99). This line of new accessories is completed with card sleeves (€9.99) and deck boxes (€5.99) with Disney characters Tiana and Aladdin. Finally, a card album with a 9 page pocket and card sleeves featuring a Disney Lorcan TCG card back design is also available.
