Shortly after the event, James Gunn took to Crowds to share a photo of himself wearing the new DC Studios logo t-shirt. He also published a message.

“When looking for a logo, DC Studios knew exactly where it was. We wanted something that honored the past and inspired the future. The DC Bullet was designed by Milton Glazer and used by the comic book company for three decades from 1977 to 2005. Additionally, the logo will be the official logo across DC.The company will begin appearing in comics, toys, and merchandise this October.

James Gunn shared a video on TikTok where he continued to explain his decision for the new logo and thanked DC fans.

“Since our early days at DC Studios, my partner Peter Safran and I have traditionally focused on bringing together the diverse range of DC film, television, animation and games under one banner.”

“Peter and I knew we needed a logo that would unite us all. We knew it had to be something instantly recognizable to the comics, famous artists and writers who inspired everything we do, including our very own Jim Lee. Not to mention generations of passionate and dedicated DC fans.

“We wanted a logo that celebrated our past and now represented our future, ours and theirs. Thank you for your support and transformation over the past year, I can’t wait to show you all we have in store for you. We pledge every ounce of our heart and soul to honoring Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and all other DC Comics characters. And I promise that this logo will be a symbol of the love, passion, respect and hard work that goes into those creations.

“We’ve known exactly what we wanted this logo to be since we took over DC Studios. If this looks familiar, chances are you’re a DC fan. We send you all my love and hope you have a great meeting.”
