Prime Video has released posters teasing what could happen in the fifth and final season of The Boys, as Homeland plans to dominate the world.
The Boys season four finale is now available, and along with it, Prime Video has shared posters hinting at potentially dire events in season five. If you haven’t seen the season four finale yet, be aware that there are spoilers ahead.
Billy Butcher on the limit
The fourth season is far from over for our heroes. Billy Butcher succumbs to his dark side, introduced to him by the late Joe Kessler, and eventually kills Victoria Neumann. Although she deserves this because of her skull explosion, this action sets off a chain of tragic events. Butcher decides to go on his own crusade to destroy all the Supes, leaving the rest of the team in a desperate situation.
Native, unopposed, he has captivated everyone on the team except Annie, and is now one step closer to achieving his goal of world domination.
Eric Kripke’s vision for the fifth season
In an interview with LadBible.com, showrunner Eric Kripke offered some teasers about season five.
“The season four finale shows us that we’ve been planning for five years, because there’s no way the series can continue another season after the events of that finale. “For us, this is our version of the apocalypse.”
“Out of the five seasons, I’ve always looked at the point where we’re at the end of the second act of the movie, where everyone’s at their lowest point and they’ve faced their own demons. Now, in the fifth season, they must come together and save the world.
The official description of season 5
According to the official description of the fourth season: “The world is on the brink. Victoria Neumann is closer than ever to the Oval Office and under the thumb of Homelander, who is consolidating his power. Butcher, just months old, is Becca’s son and has lost his position as leader of the Boys. The rest of the team is fed up with the lies. With the stakes higher than ever, they must find a way to work together and save the world before it’s too late.
Season 5 will see the returning cast of Carl Urban, Jack Quaid, Anthony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chas Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Colby Menifee, Claudia Domit, and Cameron Crovetti. Additionally, new cast members such as Susan Hayward, Valorie Curry and Jeffrey Dean Morgan will join the cast.
The first three episodes of Boys’ Fourth Season will be available to stream starting June 13, with new episodes airing weekly until the end of July 18.
