As we get closer to the next Avengers movies, a new MCU rumor brings us Marvel Studios’ plans for two iconic villains

Marvel Studios had big plans for the Kang winner before actor Jonathan Majors walked out of the role after being accused of violence. Although the character is still expected to appear in the MCU in some capacity, we still don’t know what Kevin Feige and his team have planned for this powerful villain.

Reconfiguring the future

Although Avengers 5 will no longer be titled “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty,” previous reports have suggested that the character will still appear in a much reduced role.

In January, Deadline’s Justin Kroll responded to rumors that Coleman was being considered to replace Domingo Majors. “I’ve been seeing a lot of comments this week about ‘who’s playing Kang’ and ‘this is a strong candidate for Kang,’ and what I’m saying is, I shouldn’t expect news on that anytime soon,” Kroll said. Marvel news will be posted in various directions in the coming weeks, but don’t hold your breath on it.

He added: “I won’t rule out rumors this week about a potential candidate for the role.” “I have no idea if those rumors are true or not, I’m just telling you that if I have to bet on Kang or something that will be announced first, I’ll bet on something else.

Many villains, many universes

Cosmic Circus’ Alex Perez has now weighed in, and hears that Marvel intends to “focus on other versatile villains before reuniting with Kang.” Although it is unclear which villains he is referring to, he updated with the following post:

“You’re about to find your first in #DeadpoolAndWolverine.”

She may simply be talking about Cassandra Nova, but we hear that Deadpool and Wolverine will have quite a few surprises and possibly a bigger threat than Emma Corrine’s Professor X variant.

Doctor Doom and his future in the Marvel Universe

Another villain rumored to play a major role in the MCU is Doctor Doom, though it may be a while before he makes a significant impact. Doom is not expected to appear in Fantastic Four (except in the post-credits scene) and although he may be part of Avengers 5 and Secret Wars, he may not be the main antagonist.

“He heard that they’re going to treat Doom the same way they treated Loki in the Infinity Saga,” Perez said.

Following the great villains

Loki was introduced as a villain in the first Thor movie before gradually redeeming himself and meeting his end at the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. Later, Tom Hiddleston reprized the role of God of Deception from another timeline in his Disney+ solo series.

That’s a very different evolution, so we can say that this means Doom will be used sparingly at first.

The arrival of these two big villains could mark a major shift in the MCU’s narrative. With Kang the Conqueror taking on a more low-key role and introducing Doctor Doom in a Loki-like evolution, it looks like Marvel Studios is laying the groundwork for the next steps. Will Doctor Doom be the next big villain to dominate the MCU storylines? Or will we see other versatile villains take center stage? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain: the future of the MCU is full of intrigue and surprises.
