A Netflix spokesperson reveals how the massive leaks of many series belonging to the platform’s catalog came about
Netflix reveals the origin of the leaks that compromise part of the catalog of this streaming service, specifically the one dedicated to the world of anime.
Where does the leak come from?
In a statement with The Wrap, A Netflix spokesperson said the leak originated from a post-production partner. Furthermore, the same person assured that measures have already been taken to eliminate these leaks.
“One of our post-production partners was compromised and unfortunately images of several of our titles have been leaked online. “Our team is taking aggressive measures to remove them.”
This platform error has caused material to be shared that should not yet have come to light, such as glimpses of the second season of Arcane and the remaining episodes of the remake of Ranma 1/2. While Netflix doesn’t say who the post-production partner it’s referring to is, a statement could tell us that it is Iyunocompany that offered dubbing services for some Netflix titles.
“Iyuno is aware of a recent security issue involving unauthorized access to sensitive content. Protecting our customers’ privacy and ensuring the security of their content is our top priority. We are actively investigating this security breach to mitigate potential risks and identify responsible parties. We will make further announcements as there are changes or important information.”
However, this is all speculation at the moment and Netflix has yet to confirm who it is.
