Mini-Driver reveals details about Bruce Timm’s new series and says it’s amazing.

In a recent interview with CB, Driver was asked about the series, but remained tight-lipped. However, he did not hesitate to assume that the show would be unbelievable: “Literally, if I said anything about my character, the alarms would go off and they would take me away in a van.” But I have to tell you, it’s amazing. The whole show, it’s incredible, it’s great.

The official description for the series reads: “Welcome to Gotham City, where corruption outweighs good, criminals are on the rise, and law-abiding citizens live in constant fear.

“Trapped in tragic fires, wealthy socialite Bruce Wayne has become something more and less than human: BATMAN. His solo crusade for justice attracts unexpected allies in the GCPD and City Hall, but his heroism turns deadly and creates unexpected complications.

The series aims to capture the essence of what Tim was going for in the 90s animated series, explains Tim: “Back then there were certain restrictions regarding adult content, violence and mature themes. My idea is basically to say, ‘OK, it’s 1990 again, this time I can do whatever I want, and JJ and Matt are backing me up.’

Bruce Timm’s first look

This project has been in development for some time with Tim, JJ Abrams, Matt Reeves and comic book writer Ed Brubaker leading the creative team. Batman: Caped Crusader seeks to explore the themes and tones originally sought after for the ’90s series, but with the creative freedom that today’s television allows.

Tim commented on the series: “The opportunity to go back and re-imagine this world with less constraints is a dream come true. “We want to offer a darker, more mature version of Gotham, something that resonates with both longtime fans and new audiences.”

Diedric Bader, familiar to many as the voice of Batman in previous versions, switched roles to play Harvey Dent/Two-Face, giving this iconic villain a new perspective.

Other talents such as John DiMaggio, known for his work on Futurama and Adventure Time, and Haley Joel Osment have been recognized for their roles in The Sixth Sense, promising to further enrich this series.
