McFarlane Toys has announced a new resin statue of The Joker based on an iconic comic book cover featuring artwork by Neal Adams. Pre-orders for the statue will go live tomorrow.
In a first preview published on the McFarlane X Toys (formerly Twitter), the Joker can be seen menacingly holding a toy guard with Batman on it. The Batman villain’s iconic laugh is also part of the statue, with the words “Hahaha” featured in a bold, comical script. McFarlane Toys has revealed that the new Joker statue will be 1:10 scale and modeled after Neal Adams’ iconic comic book cover Batman #251, dated September 1973. Pre-orders are expected to be available tomorrow, September 17th, at McFarlaneToys.com and other select retailers.
The new Joker statue joins McFarlane Toys’ line of DC Direct figures and statues. Other recently announced collectibles include a new Robin figure from DC’s alternate world of Earth-2 and a series of Batman Cowl replicas featuring Batman’s iconic appearances in film and comics.
New Joker Merchandise Arrives Ahead of New Joaquin Phoenix Movie
McFarlane Toys’ new Joker statue is just one of many new collectibles set to be released in the coming months, coinciding with Joker: Madness for TwoThe film will be released in theaters on October 4. Joaquin Phoenix will play the Joker, while Lady Gaga will play Harley Quinn. The film is described as a “musical psychological thriller” and is a sequel to the 2019 film Joker.
FavorGK, a toy company specializing in high-end resin anime statues, has announced that a special scale figure is also being released to coincide with the new Joker film, reimagining Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker character as a toddler in a collectible figure. McFarlane Toys’ statue, while not directly related to The Joker films, depicts the character in one of his most iconic comic book portrayals. McFarlane Toys also unveiled an all-new DC Direct Christmas Joker figure inspired by Batman: The Animated Series last month, which is now available at Target stores.
Pre-orders for McFarlane Toys’ Joker Scale Resin Statue will go live on September 17.
