
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has confirmed that there are no immediate plans to cast a new actor for the iconic mutant, confirming that Jackman will remain in the role for a number of years.
While promoting Deadpool & Wolverine, Feige talked about the possibility of finally reprising the beloved character, suggesting that the actor playing the next role should bring something new to the table. “I think it’s going to be a very different style and look. It’s a big mistake to try to make Hugh Jackman as Wolverine,” Feige explained. “As comic book readers know, there have been many different versions of these characters over the decades, and it will be fun to explore some of them in the future.”

“We don’t have any immediate plans,” Feige added. But I think it’s inevitable in the next decade. “If this happens, it will have to be a very different and bold reinterpretation because no one will be great if Hugh Jackman does his version of Wolverine.”
Deadpool and Wolverine will be Jackman’s tenth time playing Logan/Wolverine. He made his debut as the iconic mutant 20 years ago in 20th Century Studios’ X-Men (2000), and has since been a main character in the X2 (2003), X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) series. . and X-Men: Age of Extinction (2014). He also made guest appearances in the prequels X-Men: First Class (2011) and X-Men: Apocalypse (2016).
Due to the popularity of the character, Jackman starred in three solo films: X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), The Wolverine (2013) and Logan (2017). The latter was announced as a farewell announcement for the character until he agreed to return to Deadpool & Wolverine, where he would meet Ryan Reynolds and his Mer in Mouth for the first time in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

The Deadpool and Wolverine cast includes Morena Baccarin, Briana Hildebrand, Leslie Ugams, Karan Soni, Stefan Kapicic, Shioli Kutsuna, Lewis Tan and Rob Delaney, all returning from previous Deadpool films. Additionally, Emma Corrine, Matthew Macfadyen, Aaron Stanford, Jennifer Garner, Daphne Keen, Tyler Mann and Wunmi Mossaku will be joining.
