After five years of interdimensional stories, Marvel Comics announces the definitive closure of its Ultraman saga with a farewell full of action, emotion and legacy
Marvel Comics confirmed it The Fall of Ultramana unique number written by Kyle Higgins and Mat Groomwith the art Davide Tinto, will arrive in February. This comic will mark the closure of the saga that the American publisher has developed together with Tsuburaya Productions, starting from its beginning in 2020 with The Rise of Ultraman.
Over the course of five years, Wonder reinvented the legendary Japanese hero in titles such as The Trials of Ultraman, The Mystery of Ultraseven and Ultraman X the Avengerswhere the iconic defender joined the Avengers. Now it all culminates in one last mission that will test his heroism and could cost him his life.
The story promises to reveal the final fate of the popular character and the United Science Patrolfacing a cosmic threat that could destroy the Earth. “We knew from the beginning how this saga was going to end,” Groom said. “It’s bittersweet to say goodbye, but we wanted to give Ultraman a dignified send-off.”
Higgins also added that it was “an honor to bring this timeless hero to Western readers,” thanking the Marvel team and Tsuburaya for making it possible.
With this issue, Marvel closes a historical cycle of its catalogue, saying goodbye to one of Japan’s greatest heroes with a final, epic battle that promises to be unforgettable.
