Play dirty review noting the film’s over-reliance on familiar genre tropes.
“Play dirty doesn’t quite live up to the best Shane Black films like Kiss Kiss Bang Bang Or The nice guys“, the review concludes, “but it manages to bring together a large ensemble cast that evokes the Oceann’s film series or even Italian work.
“The plot doesn’t live up to those of the previously mentioned films, with its overuse of tropes and predictable turns. But it still offers an exciting mix of action and adventure and allows fans to immerse themselves in a fun story without fear of getting bogged down in deep intrigue or exposition.”

He continued: “Whenever we were talking about, ‘Okay, what’s the kind of movie you want to make as an actor if we’re talking about a big, giant commercial movie?’ And Deadly weapon is still here,” he said, “and in some of the other films that Shane has written, so I couldn’t have been happier. I hope he was as happy about the experience as I was.”
Play dirtyParker’s plot sees Parker assemble a team to pull off a unique heist. For his job to succeed, he must outsmart the New York mafia, a South American dictator and the richest man in the world.
Besides Wahlberg and Stanfield, Play dirty also stars Rosa Salazar, Keegan-Michael Key, Chukwudi Iwuji, Nat Wolff, Gretchen Mol, Thomas Jane and Tony Shalhoub. Black co-wrote the film’s screenplay with Charles Mondry and Anthony Bagarozzi.
