Madam Web’s box office predictions indicate that the film may have a disastrous opening weekend
Madame Web’s box office predictions indicate that people are not interested in Sony’s new Marvel Universe movie.
Mrs. Web is going to crash
According to Box Office Pro, the Dakota Johnson-starrer could earn between $25 million and $35 million in its first weekend in theaters. If Madame Web actually ends up grossing in the aforementioned range, that means we’ll see the lowest opening weekend ever for any Marvel Comics character in Sony’s current universe.
Currently, Morbius has the worst opening weekend of any of these Sony films with $39 million, followed by Venom with $80.3 million and Venom 2 with $90.1 million.
On the other hand, if the speculations come true, Sony’s next release will be on the back of another major setback. Marvel’s November 2023 release in theaters grossed $46.1 million in the United States, a number that surpassed Madame Webb’s forecast.
The Sony film will hit theaters on February 14, 2024.
