Lamorne Morris commits to New girl The reunion came despite the ambivalent reaction of her on-screen partner Jake Johnson. Johnson and Morris co-starred as lead characters Nick Miller and Winston Bishop, childhood friends who live with Jessica Day (Zooey Deschanel) and Schmidt (Max Greenfield) in the same loft. The series had such an eclectic ensemble that it wowed audiences for seven seasons before being canceled due to continued ratings declines. New girl gave its characters a proper send-off, but Morris is adamant that the series could still continue. In an interview with Comic striphe called Johnson to admit that he is the reason why a New girl the reunion would not take place.

Morris and Johnson maintained a long-standing friendship after New girl The series ended, but the two have clashed ever since Morris talked about a revival. “Well, listen… I call Lamorne ‘Lamorne the Politician,'” Johnson joked. “To the people, Lamorne will do anything. Sign the contract, Big Daddy, I’ll put your fingers in the streets, Lamorne.” He had previously rejected offers of a reprise season or a reunion, however, especially if either involved the actors fondly remembering their characters or the show.

“I would say I hate both of those things,” he said in a separate interview“I don’t like the idea of us all sitting on a couch and making out in front of the cameras and then being real and being like, ‘What Max Greenfield means to me…’ with him by my side. That whole thing just seems really weird to me, and the idea of doing a ‘Let’s get the gang back together.’ And now it’s like, ‘Nick Miller is definitely bigger.’ I think we’re all with our fake kids. I don’t know.” Greenfield shared his sentiment in a separate interview, saying it was too early for a revival; he said he’d be up for it right away if showrunner Liz Meriwether came up with an idea or storyline.
